I was hanging this morning at a job site near the Rio Grand about an hour out of Laredo, and this guy was eyeballing us. I have never seen one before, what is it?

100% crop, and note that it was very, very foggy outside this morning. I did a heavy handed noise reduction and tried to increase the exposure some from the original. Not a great photo at all, but I was in a hurry....

Next time I head down that way again, I am going to take the Bigma and Tripod and see what I can capture.

You need to see them call. Then you'll understand the name. Extremely aggressive hunters. Plenty of them on US-90 going west.

Or....

You could just head over to FM 362 between Waller & Brookshire. There are quite a few of them hunting over the fields there.

I found this site: http://www.whatbird.com/ They are the developers of the iphone/ipod app called ibird. Same database is used. Though this might help somebody out.

BTW, the ibird app is pretty cool, but I haven't sprung for it yet. I've been playing around with in on my Mom's iphone.

He later cleaned himself up a little bit:

And then he went hunting wolverines with his uncle. He killed, like, fifty of them. :lol2:
