Howdy,

:tab We are doing another Fall rally based out of Kerrville the weekend of October 28th-30th. We are staying at the YO resort again, same as last time. I hope to see some of the same faces again and some new ones as well! For the full info, please go here:

Can we get deer cages for the bikes and helmets?
Maybe we should get some of these Maximum Security Helmets.

I don't think we will make this one, we are planning a Colorado trip for that weekend. Go up and visit some friends, go to a Broncos and Avalanche game. Hopefully the weather will be nice enough to go off and ride in the mountains.

Scott,

Is your bike on the mend? Let me know if you need anything and I'll see what I can do to facilitate a speedy recovery for 'Ol Blue.

Hey, Tourm, are you leading a paved route or a DS one?

Tourmeister

Paved.

I'm surprised, frankly. Is there a DS route or two planned, or nice roads only?

Tourmeister
08-16-2005, 06:48 PM
:tab In the past there has been no demand for unpaved routes. It is not that I don't want to do it ;-) If there are enough people that are wanting to do it, I will see what we can come up with. "Nice" roads is a very subjective thing when we are speaking of DS routes :-P

Maybe I'll see ya but probably not. Getting a group together and heading out to Big Bend that same weekend and I should be overnighting in Leakey that Friday.

Do you expect a small, med or large event? I love the YO and riding our there. Just want to know what to expect turn out wise?

Tourmeister
08-22-2005, 12:44 PM
Bob,

:tab I wish I could tell you, but I never know until the day of the ride. Some people swear they will be there and then don't show. Others never mention it and then show up unexpectedly. This is why planning these events is so difficult ;-) In the past, we have had an average of about 10 people for this particular event. But like they say in stock prospectus sheets, "Past performance is no guarantee of future performance!"

I see by the web sight that there is a registration fee and waver. What does that go to? I am not used to such formalities. What if I just happen to be staying at the same place and riding the same roads?

Tourmeister
08-22-2005, 05:31 PM
:tab The fee covers my time and expense of setting up the weekend, I provide the maps and routes, get a slightly lower hotel rate, organize everything, etc,... So all you have to do is show up ready to ride.

Thanks Scott. It sounds like its worth it. Maybe not this time for me since I have stayed at YO and driven the roads many times. All I need to know is where to pull my chair up in the evening. Any other time I would most likely enjoy the planning.

Just a bump to keep this event on folks minds... ;-) This will probably be the last TWT rally of the year. Of course the Pie and BBQ runs will still be going, weather permitting :-P

Soloman

Scott, I will probably attend this one, but not arrive until Saturday morning and leave Sunday evening. It looks like I fairly quite ride down if I slab in most of the way. I'll let you know soon.

Tourmeister

Hmm... anyone else? If not, Jason and I are gonna be on a tear around the country side! I'll be sure to be in front of him though... Don't wanna be messing up the GS again

Soloman

Now that would be fine, I've become quite used to your riding style. Not like I was on our first day riding together up to Eureka springs.

:tab Well, here's the deal. Other than Soloman, no one else has signed up. I have to release all the rooms at the YO this Friday. At this point, unless a bunch of folks sign up before Friday, I will be cancelling the event. By a "bunch" I mean at least ten including Jason.

:tab I plan to call the hotel today and see how long they will let me hold the rooms. This is their peak season and they are usually sold out so I am not expecting any leeway from them ;-) This means that as of tomorrow, any unreserved rooms will be released. So if you want to go, please call the YO Resort and get a room reserved PRONTO! You will need to mention that you are with the Two Wheeled Texans group and probably give them my name as well.

sorry to here about it scott.
If anyone wants to ride up THIS weekend.21-23rd
we are leaving my house at 0800 friday morning. leaving sealy at 10:00 backroads to bandera
we have several beds available if they don't mind sharing a room in the cabins.
the cabins are about $70 a night so 2 or three people per is pretty cheap.
give me a shout if u want more details.

All rooms have been cancelled in our block. If you had a room reserved, you will need to call the YO and confirm that there is no longer a room in your name. Better safe than sorry ;-)
