I had a '99 and really enjoyed it. Rode it from Austin to Kali, up the Alaska Highway to the Arctic Circle and back as well as a bunch of other trips. It's a good little bike. Achilles heel can be the water pump and steering head bearings, neither of which were an issue with mine. Poke around F650.com for your questions.
