:bigokay:
I know that Scott is doing a ride on this weekend out East that some of you are going on but for those of you who might be around a few of us are heading out to Llano for a little Hill Country riding and good BBQ :chug: . Come out and join us. Its a short 1+ hour jaunt from Austin and I think its only slightly longer from the Metroplex and San Antonio.
What'cha say, lets see if we can get a few bikes out there.

Hey Max,
Sorry you wont be able to make it tomorrow. If you find a way out of your commitment, are meeting at the Micky D's at 183 and 1431 in Cedar Park around 10 and heading out from there.
If not will catch up with y'all on another ride.

Oh yeah, And Scott, it may only take a little more than an hour to get there but it takes at least an hour or two to get your meat, get in, sit down and enjoy the great food of Cooper's (man, Im getting hungry already).
And BTW, it can take a lot longer to get home, no need to take the short way home.
You all have a great weekend out there. :dude:

The RST's all washed, and has a little new thingie on the tank, which might make for some fun documentation of the tiny specks of red that will be SV' taillights as he pulls away from my slow self on 1431...
Mmmmmmm, pork.... :chug:

Man, I wish I could, but I have business to tend to in San Antonio that I need to get done today or it won't get done.
I went out riding yesterday, though. If you guys have never been out to Hamilton Pool, you need to visit. It is a really beautiful place...and with summer coming there should be some nice two-legged scenery there, too.
:-D

Yup, although Hamilton Pool Rd / 965 just west of Hamilton Pool frightens me a bit as it crosses the river: sandy one-lane'ish crossing that goes around a big boulder. A great place for a newbie like me to :moon:

First, met Roger at the rendezvous point. I hereby nominate Roger's Sprint ST for best and most gorgeous Bang for the Buck. 8)
Roger took off, and Andy and I headed out 1431 to Marble Falls(*). A fair amount of traffic, but who cares, day was perfect, bikes were working, 1431 was still curvy :dude: .
At Marble Falls, Andy took the lead and we went up 281 to Park Road 4.
Took PR 4 to 29, whereupon we switched bikes for the ride to Llano.
Andy, please tell folks how much you hated that bit of ridin'.
Had some amazing barbecue at Cooper's, packed about 80% of what I bought to bring home.
Saw a bunch of cherry vintage T-birds all around Cooper's, I think Andy got some pics.
Took 29 back to PR 4.
Took PR 4 back to 281(*). Andy, er, scouted way ahead of me each way on this road, bless his heart...
At 281, Andy went south to head home, I went north, cuz I had a Jones for 1174 from Bertram to 1431.
All in all, a great riding day. Thanks a ton to Andy for the idea, and the great choice of roads. :bigokay:
Paul
(*) have digital video of these roads, just need to upload somewhere...

8) Yeah Paul it was at great day for a trip to Coopers. Too bad Rodger couldnt make it and I agree, that black Sprint was "Sweet". Thanks for loaning me the 'pril for that little run to Llano, and your right, I really didn't like it at all  (yeah right, and my wife just told me to shut-up and stop talking about it). That Futura is just flat out great, rides like its on rails. I did get a few pictures of the T-Birds and will get them posted once I get them off the comera.
We definitely need to do that again, and next time maybe we can get some others to join up :chug: .

You know I have been hearing about Coopers for years but I have just never seemed to be able to work it into my schedule to get out there. It definitely is getting bumped up on my list of must do places. I may head out there in July or August when it is nice and cool. ;-)

Flattery will get you everywhere. You two are now officially on my "cool" list. :-D
Really, you guys are too kind! It was great to meet you fellas in person and put faces and voices with the letters on the screen. We'll most definitely have to ride together sometime soon, maybe for a pie run to Bluebonnet Cafe!

Do it, man! You won't regret it! And shoot, if it gets too late, you can bed down at my place. I have a whole room of my house that is going unused. It can be yours for an evening free of charge. I do, however, charge you for the air you breathe, and that's $29.95 + local taxes. j/k

Hey guys, what I all this talk about Coopers? Have you ever tried Big John's outside of Llano on HWY29? Everyone goes to Coopers, and I admit it is good, but Big John's has been there for about 25 years and it is some of the best I have tasted. A few years ago Henry (owner) added a steak house to it and they do steaks on Friday nights.
Maby I could make it up for the next run and you guys could show me some roads and I could give you the Big John's experience. You will not regret it.
Later......
