 Hello, my name is Debra Anne. I just joined this group(having been led here from a magazine). I live in Houston - just south of Tomball.
I obviously have a 1973 BMW R/75. I purchased it from my dad 3 years ago.
I haven't been able to do much riding since then other than to ride it to/back of Sturgis, SD in 2000.
I also own a 1993 Honda 250 Nighthawk-my baby.(I rode her everyday for a year for work)
I look forward to being a part of this group and riding more and more in the upcoming months. :bigokay:

Welcome,
I live in Magnolia, so we'll have to hook-up for a ride some time. Scott(Tourmiester) puts on some awsome rides as well. Plenty of riding on this site. Very cool people too. :chug:

Welcome Debra Anne! My first bike was a 92 Nighthawk, though mine was the big brother to the 250. I love those nighthawks! Pretty impressive, having a "vintage" German bike, is it like new, or well used? I'm not in TX, just yet, I have been waiting to get the manning level back up here, before I can move on to a new job within my company, to TX. When I finally DO make my way to God's Country, I will be living about 1 1/2 hrs west of Austin. Again, welcome!

Howdy Debra,
:tab Welcome to the site. What magazine did you read that mentioned us? I don't advertise this site in any magazines. So now I am curious ;-)
Adios,

 Thank you for the warm welcome.
To answer your questions,
I prefer not to be a weekend rider, I would ride everyday if I didn't have to dress in heels/dresses for work.
1. I found this group in the Ride Texas Oct issue
2. My BMW is currently in well used shape. All original though, fairing, saddle bags. My dad rode it everyday for 5 years. From Texas it has been to Canada, Sturgis, North Carolina all through the Rockies, up to Ohio and back in the winter-snow, sleet, etc. It has an excellent mechanical history and will run at 90 all day - I know because I have done it.
My goal is to get it into "vintage shape" but still ride as often as I can.
My nighthawk is in great shape, except for where I dropped it the very first day!! My only -as of yet- accident.
I am excited to be meeting some riders. I am married with 4 children so I don't want any wives upset with me for riding with their husbands. My dad/mom have a hd w/ sidecar. I am hoping to get to start riding with them-they also live in Magnolia, John.

Welcome Debra Anne. Dont' swaet the wives getting mad if there are any. They'd just upset because they haven't figured out how much fun riding is like you have. I saw an old Beemer on campus Friday. If I see it again I'll have to take a closer look. It was the first I've seen there. It looked like a late '70s/very early '80s twin with some cast aluminum lace wheels. It was in really good shape, so it was either owned by an older student or a professor in all likelihood. There are a few exceptions, but most of the older bikes around here look like older bikes, so it was nice to see that one. :-D Once again, welcome to the group. We're just one big happy family of riders who seem to be growing in number at an amazing rate.

Well I can't say I have seen a harleyw/ sidecar running around yet. Also ditto on the wife thing. My wife wants a bike, and plan on lowering my SV for her & getting something else for me. Probably just another SV :chug:  ... Don't hate me Scott

You can't miss my parents bike. It is hd Orange with a dark green sidecar. He just put the sidecar on it in August. He used to go to the Blue Door alot :chug: , I doubt that he does now that my mom rides with him everywhere.
I also have in my garage a 1970 BMW , it's my son's, it runs but is in need of some major work. He has all original stuff - new gas tank etc, just needs to put it together.....since he has a car, it hasn't happened. :(
Thank you again for the warm welcome to the group.
