Howdy,
:tab Well yesterday, I watched two rounds of 125 racing on SpeedTV. I have to say that watching these guys on these little bikes is simply amazing. The racing is almost always close. There tend to be lots of passes for the lead with great dicing action. Seldom does someone just run away from the pack. In other words, these are some exciting races to watch! Some of these guys have barely passed through puberty and they are riding at a level that is simply incredible! Makes me wish I had been around bikes at a much earlier age. :?

Hey Jack!
:tab What is the scoop on those tracks down South I keep seeing you talk about? Where are they? What kind of events do they run? Any pocketbike racing action?

Adios,
Which tracks? I joined the track over at Katy recently. Probably heading there for some XR100 testing Thursday. There's a new track out of Goliad south of Victoria, but it's an off road park with an MX track, mud drags for the local red necks, and off road trails for ATVs and dirt bikes. I haven't been over there, yet. Still working to get an old KX250 I just acquired together to take over there.
The Katy track is a road course, a little kart track. It's six turns, seven apexes and only 0.5 miles long. It sits on what can't be more than 5 acres. You can watch the whole race from the fence. It is a total blast to ride, though. Only a couple of sweepers, the rest bus stop corners. They get 250 a year for a membership. You'd need a mini to ride it, not exactly a big bike track. It's about half the size of the now defunct Hitchcock track. TMGP runs usually four races a year there. It's only a couple hours over there for me, so it's a pretty good deal for testing. I went to Hitchcock last couple of winters, was 2 1/2 hours drive, but the place is closed now. Check out the TMGP site at http://www.tmgps.8k.com/ for the new rules. They are to have a pocket bike class next season, but might not keep it if nobody shows to ride it. In the past, there's only been a handful show up. The katy track site is http://www.racekarts.com/ . It's west of Katy. There's a map and directions on the site.

:tab Oh man that looks like so much fun! Why do there have to be so many things out there to do and so little time to do them all!? I need to be immortal :-P
