Howdy,
:tab If you want to include images in your posts, you will first need to have the image online somewhere so that you can link to the image. There are numerous hosting services like: smugmug.com, pbase.com, imageshack.us, photobucket.com, etc,... You can also make a small donation to the site and have access to the TWT Photo Gallery. Once you have the image online, there are two ways to use it.
First is the URL tag.
{url=http://www.yoursiteaddress.com/picture.jpg}Description of Picture{/url}
For example: This is the clickable text description for a link to a banner image (http://www.twtex.com/forums/images/misc/logo136.gif)
You can also use the IMG tag like this:
{img}http://www.yoursiteaddress.com/picture.jpg{/img}
For example:
http://www.twtex.com/forums/images/misc/logo136.gif
:tab In both cases, when you actually do this, replace the {} with [] so that the BBCODE actually does what it should. I had to use the {} for display purposes here.
:tab The first method [url=...] will display a link to the picture and when clicked, it will open a new browser window with the image in it. The second method [img] will actually show the picture in your post here. If you use the IMG tag, please make sure the images are 550 pixels or less in width or it messes up the display of the forum threads. Use the URL tag if it is a big picture.
:tab You can also use the attachment feature when posting. You may include up to five attachments per post. When you are in the post editor, look down under the editor window for the Manage Atachements button. Click this and then browse to the file on your computer and click Upload. Attachments will display at the end of your post. Only registered TWT members will be able to view the attachments.

Got pics? Here's how to post them:
Option 1: The quick (but not very good) way.
Attaching pics to posts. Okay for noobs.
When you write a post you will see an option to add attachments. You need to scroll down below the area where you type your post, you should see this button:
http://blink.smugmug.com/photos/103434844-M.jpg
When you click that button, the following window comes up:
http://blink.smugmug.com/photos/103434849-M.jpg
Click the browse button to find a photo on your hard disk and upload it.
1. Your photo has to be small enough to post, which means it probably has to be re-sized after you fetch it from your camera.
2. You can only attach 5 images per post.
3. It uses disk space and bandwidth, making it harder to keep the site fast.
4. When people reply to your post, they can't display your image again, which they usually want to do.
Option 2: Open a SmugMug or Other Photo account:
SmugMug and some other photo site specialize in image hosting. They do the image resize thing automatically, allow you to post many images per post, and you can post to other message forums. They don't use disk storage or bandwidth, which helps keep the site fast.
Once you have an account, you can use the IMG button,http://blink.smugmug.com/photos/103434891-M.jpg , that you see above the area where you type when you post. The image button let's you specify an Internet address (URL) to identify the image.
http://blink.smugmug.com/photos/103434863-M.jpg
Ok so now you need to know how to get the photo URL.
1. Find the Photo you want to add to you post.
http://blink.smugmug.com/photos/95494996-S.jpg
2. Right click the photo and you will see this.
http://blink.smugmug.com/photos/103434887-S.jpg
3. Click Properties and you will see this.
http://blink.smugmug.com/photos/103434877-M.jpg
4. Highlight the URL.
http://blink.smugmug.com/photos/103434835-M.jpg
5. Right click the Highlight the URL and copy.
http://blink.smugmug.com/photos/103434856-M.jpg
6. Click the image button and Paste the copy URL into the insert Image box.
http://blink.smugmug.com/photos/103434873-M.jpg
This is what it will look like in your post. Make sure you paste over the http:// that is in the box. If you forget just delete it.

You did it right but you need to have your image on a site that allow external links. I do not use Yohoo so I'm sure if they allow this or if there is a setting you need to modify. But you did do it right.
Will it work if I use the gallery for this forum?

Lets test it and see.

Yes it will!
Ahh. That's the ticket then. Support the forum and post your pics. I like that better than using an outside site. Thanks for the help, guys.

It looks like my photos connected or, as it is often said these days: "I'm in!"
_______
I hope to occasionally post here in these years of my retirement in late adulthood(60-80) and old age(80++). So, if you see one of my posts, the chap making them looked like this at the age of 60(2004); his wife and he looked like this on his retirement in 1999(age 55) and, a close-up version of his visage looked like this at a photo-shoot in Hobart Tasmania(2004).-Ron Price, Australia(that's all for now, folks)
I can't see attached files anymore, the file is visible when not logged in and disappear when logged in

Now that is a new one... :ponder: Are you referring to attached files in your own posts or in other people's posts? There aren't any settings that restrict Forum Supporters or Registered Users from viewing attached files, nor are there any regarding specific individual users. So I am guessing it has to be something with a browser setting. Running any kind of popup blocker? Got anything set that prevents images from loading?
other peoples posts, under attached photos there is only a dash, not a file name or a photo; however I just noticed I can click the dash and the photo will open in a new window, maybe the problem is on my computer
update: yea, zonealarm blocks banner skyscraper ads, doesn't block TWT banners but the attached photos don't appear
problem solved, operator error

Use a bigger picture. Fer instance, with my (free) Flickr account, I can upload a picture to it, then choose which size I want to link to for posting in a forum. Sizes I can chose from range from 75x75 up to 768x1024.
This is a small (180x240)
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3205/3425174210_4923c50473_m.jpg
This is a medium (375x500)

and so on.

ok i down loaded to the forum gallery amd do what it says obove but were do i find what size to down load.
I think you'll have to upload your pics to another site (Flickr in my example) in order to get a choice of sizes?
Nope, just checked, I'm wrong. to post a larger picture from your gallery, look under your picture, see where it says filesize? click the filesize you want and paste it's ubbc code address into your post. This is your 29.7kb size picture.

If your original image is smaller than the display size you pic, Flickr will probably display it at the larger size but the quality of the image will suffer noticeably. This is true for any image that you enlarge. It is true when you scale them down as well, but the effects are far less noticeable.

Howdy Speedy,
:tab When you are editing the body of your post, look down below at the "Additional Options" area and you should see a "Manage Attachments" button. Click that and a window will pop up showing you what kinds of files can be attached to your posts, the file size limits, and the display size limits (for images). You can attach up to five images per post. This is the option to use if you do not already have the files located online somewhere like an image hosting service.
:tab For users that are also Forum Supporters, they can upload images to the TWT Photo Gallery (http://www.twtex.com/photopost/index.php) and then link to those images using the IMG or URL tags. Other users use commercial hosting sites like smugmug, photobucket, etc,...
:tab Once an image is hosted online somewhere, you can include it in your post using the IMG or URL tag. The IMG tag will cause the image to display in the body of your post. The URL tag will simply display a link to the image, opening it in a new browser window. The format for each is as follows:
NOTE: to actually make the tags work, replace the ( ) with [ ] around the commands. The ( ) had to be used here so it would display and not get processed as the actual commands.
(IMG)http://hostingsite.com/userdirectory/imagename.jpg(/img)
All you are doing here is putting the direct link to the image between the (IMG) and (/IMG) tags. The URL tag is similar but with a slight twist.
(URL=http://hostingsite.com/userdirectory/imagename.jpg)Whatever text you would like displayed in place of the actual link address(/URL)
Note that for the URL tag, the link to the image is INSIDE the ( ) of the opening tag, and a descriptive text is actually between the two tags.

That link won't work with the IMG tag because it is not a link directly to an image. If you are viewing an image in the TWT Photo Gallery, down below it you should see the direct link shown.
UBBCode: (img)http://www.twtex.com/photopost/data/500/medium/where_8141q.JPG(/img)
I replaced the [ ] with ( ) so you could see it. If you put the [ ], you get this:
