Since the Hill Country Rally has been cancelled, it looks like I will have to entertain myself this weekend (Oct. 28-31).

Does anyone know of any good dual sport roads or trails in the Canyon Lake area? I have had my Duc up there many times (and usually head west to Leakey) but think I will take the KLR to do some local exploring this time.

Canyon Lake is southwest of Austin and north of San Antonio. Maybe some of you Austin guys have suggestions. Thanks.

No trails, and you have to get a little north of the lake to find any dirt rds. Between RR32 and RR165, CR's 405 & 406 are (or used to be) dirt. West if RR2325, CR113 (Red Corrall Rd) is dirt. North of RR165, CR 410 (Middle Creek Rd) is mostly paved south of the creek, but the limestone creek xing & north is dirt. West of there, CR 411 may still be dirt. Between Wimberley, DS, and Henley, CR's 219, 244, and a couple of others are dirt. It is getting harder to find dirt west of I35.
Have Fun!

Steve, there are endless miles of unpaved roads up here ;-) Unlike the area around Canyon Lake, we are not in the midst of a massive urbanization. The only thing is... you have to be okay with some sand!

Wow I hadn't noticed there was another KTM LC4 bike on the board. Sweet, maybe we'll run into each other on one of these rides. I'd like to get a look at an SMC and see what the differences are from my SXC.

Lori's bike is really a good looking machine and she does a great job riding it....Not the normal bike for a little lady....If we could just get her to put on some knobbies!!!!

Ah the possibilities...
