Anyone ever heard of them? They seem to be highly rated by the BMW folks.

I'd get another pair of Sidi's but these cost less and are real leather.

Don't know the answer, but I'm also shopping boots. Since Cycle Gear is have their sale Sat, figure I'll check there and a couple other local shops to compare.

So far I've just worn work boots, so have no opinions on glamorous footware.

Whoa, I'm also looking for boots for my wife. She wears good hiking boots, but after smashing my body at the track last week, I'm more convinced than ever that purpose-made protective gear is supremely important. My high-zoot motorcycle boots did their job; no damage whatsoever to my ankles, shins, or feet. Like I keep saying, that stuff is part of the cost of the bike.

Those look great, Kurt, have all the right stuff. BUT: based on my recent experience, tall is better. Much, much better.

I hear ya. Like everything in life, these represent a compromise of sorts. Comfort vs. protection. I wear textile and mesh gear for the same reason knowing what the trade-off is. My experience is that the better the protection, the less livable the equipment on a day to day basis.

I ran some shops today and went with Sidi from Lone Star. Comfy and in my price range.

I liked my Evo Strada Tempor's, but the toes were too tapered for my liking and I really didn't care for the Lorinca(?) material that was supposed to mimic leather. Highly water proof, yes. From both directions. Great for winter, not so great for summer. The new ventilated ones might be an improvement, but weren't offered 4 years ago when I bought these.

Got the Kochmann Assen boots today. They appear to very high quality leather and will require little break in. I like the more rounded toe, thicker sole, and almost solid black coloring. They should be very comfortable to walk in as well as offering decent protection. For those desiring even more protection, they have higher styles all the way up to full racing boots. Strangely enough, Lone Star BMW is listed as a distributor, but I have never seen a pair in there. Never asked either, so that may be the problem. All in all, they should offer equal or higher quality to the Sidi's they replace in addition to more comfort.

The had a couple pair last Saturday, even had one pair on display. Good looking boots.

By the way, I have a pair of Vendramini boots, from Italy, very well made, very good at protecting your ankles if you decide to try to fly, the U. S. distributor is a good guy. BUT, the two-buckle cinch system they use around the ankle is flimsy. Hit the ground, and they pop loose. I really like the fit and finish, but will buy something else next time around.

Those aren't motorcycle boots... those are bus driver boots.

These are similar to the Joe Rocket Ballistic boots I wear; The Joe Rockets have a smooth sole not as thick and not "mud tracked". I like them.;-) Those aren't motorcycle boots... those are bus driver boots.

They ARE good boots and perfect for when I had the DR650. In sportier seating positions, they didn't flex well enough to suit me.

that may be the case, but work good for all around stuff like I ride. after 3 months they are flexible enough to not miss shifts anymore:roll:

Nah, despite the logo those are still 'Busa driver boots. ;-)
That is kinda odd, though.

I bought a pair of Cortech Solution water proof boots recently and wore them on my trip out to Big Bend. They've got all-leather outer construction, are quite comfortable both on the bike and walking around, and appear to be well-built. But, they don't have shin or ankle armor and the tops are just a tad lower than I would prefer. Still, for $110.00 they aren't too bad.

Yep, no law against it. And they'd get some points for style. ;-)
