You need to ask Irondawg. He put that trip together.

Adios,

Dave,

I stayed at a cabin in Leakey a couple of weeks ago that was great. It is located on 337 at the Frio River. The place is very nice, with a pecan orchard on one side and the river on the other. Plus it is only a stones-throw from the main road. The cabins are two bedroom with full kitchen, plus satelite TV and VCR.

The off peak rate is $80 per night, however when I was there on a Tuesday night, I offered them $60 and they gladly took it. Check them out at : http://www.friopecanfarm.com/rates.htm . By the way, no affiliation, just a lucky pick.

The only problem with the place is the pecans. Pecans everywhere (this time of year). I was afraid falling pecans would scratch my shiny red motorcycle, so I parked it on the covered back porch of the cabin.

Looks similar to Seven Bluffs RV/cabin park. They also have a pecan orchard and are located on the river. It's been about 10 years since I last satyed there with my family, but it was VERY nice. My sisters and I have been trying to gather up the time and the cash to make a trip out there again. Now that I'm bike owner, I can't wait to get back out there and hit the hills.

Howdy,

I found the medina cabins through backroads reservations. Do a google search and you'll find them. Another nice place is Fox Fire Cabins in Vanderpool. Again, do a google search to get their number.

Have fun!!

Just got back from a week long stay at Sevin Bluffs cabins http://www.friorivervacation.com

The cabins were nice, the atmosphere was quite peaceful and the owners were very motorcycle friendly. I would definitely recommend a stay there.

There are many Hill Country accomodations listed here: http://www.texashillcountrymall.com for your browsing enjoyment.

Just make sure your tires are fresh, cuz I think they've chip-sealed the entire state. The only consolation for now is that the best part of 337 hasn't been done........yet. :(
