Howdy,

:tab Well, I finally got around to watching my tape of the Philip Island MotoGP races. Once again, the 250cc race was close and exciting! For a change, the actual MotoGP race was exciting as well. Watching Nicky dicing for the lead was pretty cool. I am glad to see him hitting his rythm. I just hope he does not lose it in the off season. It was also really cool to see the Yamaha of Marco Melandri up front. Now all we need is for Suzuki and Kawasaki to find some speed and we can have some real knock down drag out racing action! I was a little freaked when I saw Bayliss crash out. That was weird :| I never like to see a rider flopping around like a limp rag doll from the moment he hits the ground. That is seldom a good sign, Katoh did the same thing. I still have not heard how he is doing.

:tab Leave it to Rossi to slip up the inside on a yellow, get penalized for 10 seconds, then with a clear track in front of him, he goes and pulls nearly a 14 second lead over Capirossi!! Freaking unbelievable stuff! All of the riders were totally confused once Rossi was penalized because they no longer knew for sure what position they were in, who was behind them and by how much, etc,... Bummer for Meladri, he lost the front and slid out. He was fighting for a podium spot. The battle between Hayden and Gibernau on the last few laps was fantastic! Hayden finally gets a podium spot fair and square, sweet!

:tab With the last round coming up, it will be exciting to see what happens. Very few people really have anything to lose so it should be a go for broke type of race. I am sure Hayden will still be pumped from his recent success. Rossi will be looking to end the year with a win just to add another exclamation point to his championship title. Biaggi has to be getting desperate. Should be great fun! But then we have to wait until next year for more racing... assuming SpeedTV decides to even show it at all... :?

:tab Opps... I was not referring to Katoh when I said I had not heard how "he" is doing, I was referring to Bayliss. Hehe... Anyone know?

From Motogp.com, 10/23/03:

"Troy Bayliss is back home in France after the long-haul trip from his native Australia. The 34 year old reported that he was feeling fine despite the effects of his race crash at Phillip Island four days ago, when he was knocked unconscious after losing control of the Ducati Desmosedici as he challenged Marco Melandri for the lead. It was a frightening moment for Bayliss and his fans all over the world, but particularly back in Monaco where his wife Kim watched with their children Mitch, Abbey and one month old Ollie.

“I made a good start and three laps later it all fell to pieces,” explained Bayliss, who had led the race after starting from fourth on the grid. “You all saw what happened next, nothing spectacular but a bump on the head and I was out cold. I woke up in the medical centre. I thought I was OK but the doctors said some x-rays and a CAT scan were a good idea, they thought. It was off to Melbourne in a whirly bird. Darrell came with me - my friend and manager. He enjoyed poking fun at my brain pictures but to his surprise and maybe some others, the doctors said my brain was just fine."

Nice to know he's in good spirits about it all. I missed the wreck and the 250 race because I had a brain fart and though the races were the following weekend. I just happened to turn on the TV to find Rossi in the lead with Nicky and Sete battling it out for the last podium spot. Awesome racing action! :-D Too bad I missed the 250s and the beginning of MotoGP, but I was happy not to have missed the whole program. :)

I may have to get with you on that. I may or may not make it down to Kings tomorrow night. Depends on homework and studying since I have two tests next week that I need to kick butt on. Not to mention after the luck I've had (or the luck of those around me) the past two Thursday's, I should probably stay at home... I'm not really a superstitious person, but I'm starting to wonder.

:tab It is because you haven't been making it to bike night :-P

We *TRIED* last week. The motorcycling gods must be against us... :( I think I'm going to stick with daylight riding for a while anyway. Deer season is quickly approaching and we all know they love to hang out near the roads between College Station and Montgomery. I know you can hit them in the day time too, but they seem more common around dusk. I don't like those kind of surprises.
