A recurrent leak of the radiator of my K7 Bandit 1250 has finally been deemed unfixable by the experts, so I now need to get a replacement.

Trouble is, a new Suzuki one costs £500 ($810 US).

So, my questions - does anyone know of a cheaper but good quality aftermarket radiator for this bike? Tried Delkevic and Aaron but none of them do one for this bike (but Aaron has mine now and is preparing to start producing it using mine as a stencil, but that will take time and I want to use my bike asap, ie from next Tuesday).

Or does anyone know anyone who has a secondhand radiator somewhere in the UK, preferably the South East?

Thanks in advance :zen:

Where exactly is it leaking, as sometimes an aluminum radiator can be welded to fix a leak depending on where it located.

Thanks for your reply, MetrickMetal.

Crack is on the bottom right as you're looking from the front of the bike, where the mesh joins the hollow frame.

It is with a firm of specialists who build and fix aluminium radiators all the time and have done so for years, so I am confident in their judgement that it's not fixable. If it could be fixed by welding, it would be back on my bike right now and my gf and I would be well on our way to the Swiss mountains and bendy mountain roads :tears:

just a little info for you, Part number 17710-18H00 is the same part as the GSX650f just incase you didnt know.

Thanks Leedude03, a dealer in Tonbridge Wells has got one of those in stock that he's selling at half the price but he thinks the part number is slightly different.

Will pop over there on Monday morning with mine and compare them.

Since the leak started again on Monday I have been practically living on Ebay, and have been looking on it regularly for a radiator over the past year since the problem first arose.

For some reason there seem to be a lot for the Bandit 400 for sale there, but never for the 1250.

Thanks for the suggestion though. If you find one on Ebay, please give me a shout as I would be very keen to know about it!

Well finally got sorted, but it hasn't been cheap...

To cut a long story short, after much ringing around I got in touch with a dealer who told me they had a 2nd hand 650 Bandit radiator lying around they could sell me if it fits, so went there this morning with my broken one and and it was quite a bit smaller.

However, said dealer offered me 10% discount on a new one that definitely will fit, I agreed to this, he ordered it, I paid and it should arrive tomorrow...

I hope you are now sorted, by the way i did say a GSX650f was the same and not as you may have mistakenly read GSF650 which is not the same.

Yeah thanks I did clock that and included that bike model in my search. Cost/unavailability is the same for both.

It was the dealer who suggested the 650 Bandit radiator might fit, so it was their error but I am grateful to them for considering the possibility, and for the 10% discount they ended up giving on the new one :sun:
