I have the opportunity to buy a '93 Yamaha XT-350 (for about $1550).

Has anyone out there owned one of these, and if so would you own one again?

From my research, I gather it's not the hottest tamale in the pot, but probably an adequate first dual sport for an old guy. And they don't seem to be as pricey as DRZ400's.

Any thoughts? :help:
TIA - John

I dunno, seems kinda pricey to me for a bike that old. Heck, I paid $2100 for my '01 DRZ E.

Dude, you're not that old. The DRZ is light years ahead in motor, suspension, weight, capability etc etc trust me dont fall for it.

Ok, point taken - and thanks! :-D

But, are we comparing 1993 DRZ's with 1993 XT's? That's about the price segment I am looking in.

John,
The 93s were just DR models which were older engine designs than the current DRZ models. The DR engine is air cooled and is an older chassis etc. and I believe comes in a street legal and enduro model. Not bad bikes, but dated and a little heavy compared to todays units. The DRZ is a newer design engine and chassis and is liquid cooled and comes in a variety of street legal, enduro kick and enduro elec start models.

Good luck,
Vaughn
