How to post Avatar?

Ok, I'm a little out of my league here, I can usually figure it out, but this time I'm at a loss. I have no idea how to get the image I want, to a "URL" and then figure out the address for it to type it into the Avatar options page. Is there a simple way to do it? Thanks!

Howdy,

First, you need to have a place on line where you can upload the image. Many people either have their own webspace, use the photo hosting sites, or something similar. Then once the image is online, you simply make a link to the picture.

The images need to be 100 X 100 or less in size. If you have an image you want to use, email it to me and we'll get it taken care of.

I have small avatar on a Todd Racing account. However, when I put the link it works a few times then a message comes up "Thanks for stealing our bandwith" because TWT is not a supported site. They only allow linking to car racing websites.

Does anyone know where I can "park" this image for use as an avatar on the TWT site?

:tab Since websites have to pay for the bandwidth used, they are touchy about letting you use their site as a hosting location for images. Every single time someone would view a post with your avatar in it, it would get transfered from the other site, thus consuming part of their bandwidth. Unfortunately, bandwidth is expensive. So I can see their point. However, email me your avatar, and I will host it here. Just please don't start linking to it from other websites for the same reason ;-)

GIF's are preferred because they are usually a smaller filesize than a JPG for a given image pixel size.

Is it possible to upload an avatar to this board? I have one on another board but I don't want to steal their BW.... Its only 4kb and I won't link to it I promise :angel: ....

TWT does not currently provide avatar hosting ;-) You'll need to find a place to link from. Like the one hosting the above image.
