Lone Star Burger Bar
Franklin, TX 77856

(I got the above info from a web search, and there was no street address listed. Maybe Scott or someone on the ride can speak up as to where exactly it was located and/or how to get there)
By chance, the day-after-the-Houston-IMS ride ended up in Franklin around lunchtime. A local at the gas station told us about this place, and I (for one) am glad Scott asked a local.
Upon arrival, it didn't look like much. A few cars out front, not many tables inside, and a one page (front and back) menu. It looked like a place that the locals keep coming back to, complete with nostalgia-laden walls and a table in the corner for the waitresses to sit at when they weren't up and moving.
The food was good. The onion rings were big and yummy (and although not on my diet, I splurged:roll: ), as was the grilled chicken sandwich. A few at the table ordered the daily special - baked chicken with a whole bunch of sides, rolls, and desert. They offered a large and a small portion, which is always a good thing for those that need to get a leg back over the bike and still manage to get home without an absurdly full belly.
Scott commented that they need to hang some hammocks across the street by the courthouse (where we parked under the shade trees) so that people could come and enjoy a meal and then a nap.
I'd like to get back there to sample more of their menu, but the ride over (from Huntsville) wasn't especially twisty or interesting. If we wander that way again, I'm sure this spot will come in handy.
