The extended forecast predicts good weather for next Saturday. There are some dirt roads southwest of Llano I'm wanting to go check out. I figure it will be 250 miles and 8 hours of riding. Anybody want to do some dirt road exploring next Sat?

Ooh, I'm interested, but have time constraints, due to a new puppy in the house. I can always peel off and head home though. Put me down as a definite maybe! :dude:

Can't make this Sat but thanks for posting the area. Need to spend some quality time out that way.

Have you spent much time east, around Lexington and farther? From the maps it looks like there are several old county roads that might be interesting. Haven't made it there either, so have no idea how good/bad the area is.

whoa,

Maybe you can ride with us another day. If we find anything interesting out there, I will likely post a ride report with pics.

I've only ridden east of Austin twice, both times on my street bike. Like you, I don't know how good/bad the area east may be.

Would you post the address of the Albertsons so can google it?

Well, this ride turned out to be both very fun and very interesting. 6 of us rode together and did 4 water crossings - 2 of which were quite wide. I wrote up a report and posted it in the "after the ride" section of the Texas DualSport Riding section here on TWT for those who want to read it. It's titled "A Big Water Crossing and a Busted Hamstring".
