Howdy,

:tab Be here at my home by 9:30am Saturday morning. The route will head Northeast towards Trinity, Groveton and loop back. Hopefully it won't be to wet from this nasty weather. The loop is about 180 miles and I have never done it before so I am not real sure when we will get back. However, if it starts getting late, there are tons of places to cut short and head back.

Please have a full tank of gas when you arrive. Also, let me know if you cannot go more than about 100 miles on a tank.

:tab Since I have never done this route, I really don't know what to expect in terms of difficulty. I will be riding on my Tourances so hopefully it won't get too ugly... ;-) It's gonna be COLD early in the day. A predicted high in the mid 50's around 3pm.

Adios,

Ohhhh, I will have to think about that one, it is supposed to be pretty chilly on Saturday and I haven't received my riding pants I just ordered from Dennis Kirk Clearance Outlet. Let you know later.

I don't mind the cold, but I've got tentative plans for Saturday. If that falls through, I'll be up there. I'll know for sure by tomorrow night.

Before noon, it is likely to still be in the 30's and 40's. Before 9:30am, I think it is supposed to be below freezing. Keep in mind that as you come up from Houston, it will get colder as you get out of the concrete jungle.

Well, doesn't look like I'll be subjected to the cold on the bike this weekend - the "other" plans are on for sure, so I'll have to miss this ride. The good news is that I'm finally getting closer to getting my studio up and running at (or near) 100%.

Go ahead and scout out the roads that-a-way for the next one, though! ;-)

I think I am going to go. I cant resist a good DS ride. The dirt bike is getting ready to get some major work done on it, so I may as well ride the heck outta it for now.

I think I can go around 100 miles based on my 44mpg last trip. Might even be able to squeak out a little more, but that might be cutting it close.

Ok, ok I am in. We will have to see what my range is now that the DRZ is 'broken in.' I should be getting around 40-45mpg as long as I am not hitting 88 mph. I am going to take 45 straight up from Spring cypress, if any of you guys see a blue Suz DRZ400s, beep at me 3 times so I know it's you. I'll probably head out at 8:30.

Hey Scott....Last time we came and joined you for a D/S ride from Huntsville I think it got up to 109 degrees and my front tire blistered.....This would make a welcome change but I have to work on bikes this weekend......Next weekend is our Terlingua Ranch ride and everything needs new tires.....Sorry we can't join you and you can't join us......

Super Bowl weekend we're doing an 800 mile "Lost Trail" ride if the Rio Grande is not too high.....Put it on your calender....

Have a great time this weekend....

:tab We have two KLR riders that called me up this evening. They are in town for the weekend and found out about our ride and will be joining us. Neither is a member here... yet ;-) So it looks like we may have a good group going. Weather is looking better all the time. They are now predicting mid 50's by noon and decreasing clouds as the day progresses. Very mild winds. With the recent wet weather, the dirt should be nice and packed and the dust minimal!
