El Camino Real (http://www.elcaminorealtx.com/)
I need to research it to get the Mexican side of the border. It has been used for 300 hundred years so there has got to be something of intrest to see along it!:rider:

Interesting map there - wasn't aware of all the alternate routes the road included. Just guessing, but I doubt it holds a lot of interest for anyone on the Mexican side of the border, so you might have a harder time finding much information about that leg.
FYI, there's a large granite marker that commemorates the Old Spanish Road in the town of Normangee just east & south of the intersection of OSR and FM 39. It's set back off the road under some trees where it's hard to spot unless you're looking for it.

Texas history is quite interesting, and the El Camino Real is some my favorite Texas History.
I guess that is because i live just off it and ride it every day to work.
When you want to explore the east end of it let me know, I ride a small part of it each day but am always up to ride more of it.
