A new shop in the area, these folks have it all, even though I think they're only 3 people at the moment. From serious engine work to suspension, dirt to street, they cover it. They're an authorized racetech center as well as "Authorized Power Commander Tuning Center" and they have a Dynojet on site.
I haven't been over to check them out, but a couple of coworkers have and were very impressed with their facilities. Also, a guy I know in Phoenix (where the Pipers are from) has known them for 8 years and says they're great folks with a good rep.

I have had my ZX11 and a friend has a Suzuki SV650, worked on by Cliff Piper, we are both happy about the work and his shop/ clean and well equipped, I'm going back to him, when the need arises..

Cliff and Diane are awesome people to work with...they've gotten parts for me as well as quotes for parts and you couldn't ask for better service!

Cliff has done the suspension as well as a rather modified motor for my KX250. Cliff's work is top-notch and he doesn't have a problem explaining what he is doing to his customers. He comes highly recommended.

Kudos to Cliff Piper @ Piper Performance.
Because his shop has been mentioned favorably in several threads, I dropped my Concours off last Saturday for a FULL service.
Since purchasing the '03 Concours in May this year the miles have been accumulating faster than I can acquire tools for service. :rider:
Cliff did a full tuneup, changed all fluids, and mounted two new tires that I provided.
I was in love with the bike before. At cruising speed, the Buzz in the handlebars used to wear me out. (hence the purchase of Throttlemeisters)
On the ride home, the Buzz was 95% gone. :zen:
The motor idles smoothly now and pulls continuously from start to top.
Piper Performance will get all my shop service work. ;)

What did they charge for the full service?

Cliff's shop rate is $70 per hour.
Complete tune up with valves and carb sync (yea I have carbs) fluids, cable check and adjust was 5 hours.
He charged 1 hour per tire to mount and balance.
.5 hours to replace brake fluid, clutch fluid and rear hub lube.
.5 hours to check/adjust head bearing.
Total was a little over $600.
That was 8 shop hours plus parts.
Just the full tuneup would have been 5 hours plus parts. (less than $400)
My local "dealer" wanted over $1000 for same service.

Not too shabby. So far I'm hating the Kaw dealers I've been into. The least of the evils being Kawasaki Grapevine. Haven't tried their service though. Have you noticed that Kaw dealers keep very few parts in stock? Maybe it's just the ZRX, but it's getting really annoying. Plus, I just paid $50 for a STOCK air filter!!:eek2: I'm still a little sore from that deal.:lol2: I ordered a K&N for the same price that will be in next week. I only bought the stock jobber cuz the previous owner of my bike TOOK THE AIR FILTER OUT!:eek2::eek2: I drove it that way for 2 weeks, and he did it for who knows how long. Oh well, next time I buy a bike, I'll look inside the airbox.
I think I'll give this Piper dude a try for my valves. Thanks for the info.

You won't be sorry if you utilize Cliff's services. He's meticulous in his work and the cleanliness of his shop shows it. He is the ONLY person that wrenches on my bikes other than me. He has gathered a good number of repeat customers amongst the MXers, Off-Roaders, and CMRA folk due to his top notch work and his customer service. It doesn't hurt that he is a rider/racer himself.

You're absolutely right John.
I first heard of Cliff in one of your posts.
You and others are the reason I chose Piper Performance. :)
I cannot emphasis enough just how smooth my motor is running.
Is this the time when I mention that I am not affiliated in any way with this shop and certainly don't receive any compensation for recommending?
Just One Happy Customer.

I second Don's satisfaction. Not only is the service competent and reasonably priced, but both Cliff and Diane are really wonderful (and funny) folks. Both of them have seen many track and road days themselves. And I really enjoy the many stories :)
They fit Whee in for new tires and moutning the Probends on a Saturday, at the last minute. I also received first-hand instruction in suspension from Cliff. I still scratch my head a bit, but at least I know the basics now (which I utilized while on this trip!).
Kudos to Pipers!
