Hey yall ,
i live in East Bernard and one of Debbie and my favorite routes is 2919 to 60 to 1093 to simonton , i think its 1489 , might be 1488 to brookshire , 359 to pattison , 1458 to san felipe , and back to 1093 to 60 to 2919 the whole loop takes us about an hour and is about 70 miles long , lots of twisties and we can still get back to the ranch before the girls get thru watching their movie . lots of sport bikes on these roads , the cops seem to like 1458 a lot on the weekends , but they dont seem to worry about the concours too much , even tho im usually doing double the posted corner speed or more , gotta love the touring bike look , with the sport bike hidden by the bags and big fairing , the passport helps too ! anyone wants to ride this with us give me a holler ,,,,,,,,,,,Casey:pirate: :welcome:

I love 1458 but so do a lot of other people. I beleive I've heard it referred to as Racer road. I have a friend who has a ranch in San Felipe right at the end of the bridge where 1458 crosses Park Road 8. He says he has seen guys on bikes timing each other from the San Felipe end back to the Pattison end. Not cool but what are you gonna do.

I've heard the same thing about it attracting the local LEOs but I've been lucky enough not to see any.

There's another fun road about 15 minutes west of the San Felipe end of 1458 called 949. It starts on 36 north of Sealy and the good part ends about 5.5 miles to the west at 1094. It's a terrible road with about a half dozen differnet surfaces, blind corners and hills with driveways everywhere. I don't recommend taking any faster than posted the frst ime you run it but it's still pretty cool; lots of elevation changes, tight deceasing radius, off camber turns and pretty scenery. Don't get me wrong, though. It's pretty dangerous but I always ride it when I'm in the area.

Also, I don't want to hear anything from the Hill country contingent. Yes, both of these roads actually suck but they're all we have around here. I ride 45 miles of flat, straight freeway to get to 1458 because I have to.

Man, I miss the days when I lived 10 minutes from the beginning of 2222 in Austin and my parents lived in Marble Falls one mile from the intersection of 281 and 1431.

Don't take the Hill country for granted.
