Good cafe in Granbury?

I'm organizing a ride (probably late May or early June) for a group of riders at my church. The loop will take us from Arlington out to around Aledo, and back through Granbury on the way home. Granbury is one of those places I just get through as fast as I can to avoid traffic; I never stop there for anything.

So, my question. Can somebody recommend a good little cafe that would be happy to accommodate 10 or 12 riders? I'd prefer something on one or another edge of town, so that we can miss all the traffic on the main drag.

Anybody familiar with the Firehouse Cafe? Google Map shows it toward the east end of town, close to the FM 4 South cutoff.

The only place I've ever eaten in Granbury is Grumps on 3503 E Highway 377. I went there with a large group of riders. They are rider friendly. It's basically a upscale burger place. The burgers were good. http://www.grumpstexas.com

The Fire House is a small version of the Dixie House Cafe, even some kind of kin.

There's also Babe's Chicken Dinner House half block west of the square with Cajun next door and Mexican across the street.

It's been a couple of years since I've been there; but I used to stop at Niester's Restaurant and Deli when passing through. Especially if you like German food, it's a great place. They also have an impressive deli counter. 4426 E Highway 377 Granbury, TX 76049

Personally, I love German. Can't speak for the other riders. Just to clarify, it's a sit-down restaurant, not just a walk-in deli?

It started as a deli and they added the restaurant later.

Exactly. That's why I'd prefer to find a place probably on the east end of town, so that I can skip the main mess.

Neister's is on the east end and IS a sit down restaurant. Their food is top notch.

I live in Granbury. Our favorite outing is to leave town, it's a very inhospitible little burg.
But if you must;
Pasta Fina on 144. Top of the hill, west side of the lake, across from McDonalds. Never a bad meal, room for as many as you can bring.
Take the loop, ride toward the square coming from the west, then 144 toward Glen Rose.
You can escape via the square to the bypass and out on 51 towards Weatherford.
51 to 167 gets you back to 377 east and Fort Worth, gives you some fast curves and avoids traffic.

If you like BBQ, try the Rib Shack out on old FM 4. I just moved out of Granbury to Glen Rose. The pace and traffic is much better. If you like Asian food, the Asian grill is a nice restaurant never crowded, but is next to a pet store. If you go for the Firehouse, you will like it, I used to eat breakfast ther a lot. Mi Familia is a great Mexican place in the Kroger shopping center behind Montana's. Great service and food, never a bad meal.
