Estes Park Colorado Lodging suggestions

Folks,
We are trying to plan an RV camping trip to Estes Park area sometime around mid-summer. My wife and I have been googling and have located many parks, etc. But it is hard to cut through the glut of commentary, comments on web sites, etc. Do you kind folks have any recommendations? We just want to escape the texas heat for a couple of weeks, and not camp 8 feet from the next RV?! Lots to do around Estes Park; need a safe place to set up home base!

I moteled it when I visited. You need to join ADVrider. They have a tenting forum and folks all over offer their back yards to fellow ADVers.

Thanks Wolverine... .I am a member of ADV, and I do tent camp, but the wife doesn't.......

If you go over Trail Ridge Road, there are several places now near Granby and I think RMNP has RV sites, too. Not sure - it's been a lot of years since I was there and I tented. But I know Granby developed quite a bit. There may be some private slots around Grand Lake, too, but they used to be pretty tightly controlled - condos, etc. Really nice, though!
