View Full Version : Off road riding in the Allen, Mckinney areas?
Our son just took and passed the MSF class (yea!) and we bought him a Yamaha XT225 as a first bike. He really wants to take it off road. Anyone here know of any good places to ride offroad around Allen or McKinney. Dirt roads would be good for him to start on and some gravel wouldn't be bad. Any suggestions?

There are alot of good dirt roads north of 380 between Farmersville and Mckinney. Use Google maps and check out the area between 1377, 1827, and 2933 north of 380. There is a lot of dirt and gravel in that area. That is where I grew into my dirt legs, when I first got a dualsport. There are at least 2 roads with water crossings in that area and the oldest wood bottom bridges in Collin County.

http://www.boondoxxx.com/ south of Farmersville off of 78 is a good learning area, stay off the big mx track and run the 1-2 miles of trails + the kiddie mx track and the oval.
Thanks guys!!! We'll definitely check those out.

You might also check with Sprocket. He mapped us out a route from McKinney to Bonham that had to have been 80% dirt county roads.
