I'm still in shock, because he was espected in January the 10th, or somewhere close, but instead came just before the end of the year.
So I guess im officially a daddy now, and I'll make sure I take cigars the next time I see you guys at the Bike Night. :P

The first thing I heard from numerous people when my oldest daughter was born was, so are you going to get rid of the motorcycle now? They always seemed flabbergasted when I said no. My wife asked me the very same question. My parents, especially my Dad were adamant that it was time for me to become a responsible adult and get rid of my K75s.
Well, I finally did get rid of it. When the transmission went out for the second time, 20,000 miles after she was born, I decided to get rid of it. That was a major mistake. I soon reallized that I should have paid what ever it took to fix it, because it two long years of arguments before I finally sang "**** the Torpedos) and just bought a bike.
I have second one now and it was even easier to buy, now that I have one...
Congratulations on the new son. I can only say, get ready, life is going to change.

Howdy,
:tab So when does he get his first bike? :-P Congrats! We're very happy for both of you.
My parents, especially my Dad were adamant that it was time for me to become a responsible adult and get rid of my K75s.
:tab It is interesting how in our country, bikes are so often associated with being irresponsible :? It is presumed they are just toys. I find this shallow understanding to be frustrating. Riding is an intimate and integral part of my life. Does that make me defacto irresponsible? What about people that ride horses, snow ski, etc,... There are lots of other activities besides motorcycling where you can be seriously injured or even killed but it seems like motorcycling is really singled out in our culture. I wonder if that will ever change?
Adios,

Well, I've been lurking for quite a while and missing quite a few posts that I'm too lazy to go back and read. However, I was glad to see your post in light of all the despair here.
It's great to bring life into the world. I wanted to congratulate you and I can only anticipate your excitement. I will know that same excitement in March. We are having a boy ourselves.
My wife and I are already discussing his riding future. I figured I'd start him out on dirt by the age of 5. When he gets around 8, I think I'll hook him up with a pocket rocket and lots of track days. Maybe I can have the next Nicky Hayden. Wouldn't that be too cool?
Again, here's to your new addition. :chug: I am so happy for you.
Later,

Thanks guys, I really appreciate your posts , they make me feel so good( if that's possible  )..I already got my first two night of incomplete sleep...lol...but hey, I know my parents went trough the same (or worse, they have told me I would cry non stop for hours every day) and they love me...i'm...sure... :P
And another thing that makes me feel even better, is how my wife it's taking everything, i kknew she was a caring woman, but now "caring" can't describe how she is with the little guy, it's like she was programmed since birth on how to handle the baby, feed him, etc. It's just unreal.
Once again thanks, and I'll keep you all posted about his development..like when he gets on his first bike.or when he pops his first wheelie...

I hear ya.
Our baby was born a month or so early, with holes in her heart. She had to wear an apnea monitor. She never had a problem, but occasionally the leads would become detached in the middle of the night, causing the alarm to sound.
My wife is a super sound sleeper, but I'd be just starting to stir and wondering what the sound was, and my wife'd already be out of the room and at the crib. She's a total
Daughter cured herself after 3 months, and is coming up on 16 y.o. She's an  , too, just more spoiled.
Enjoy every moment with the kid. All too soon, they're off on their own (or want to be)...

Very heartfelt congrats to you and your wife.
We are expecting the first week of May this year and we cant wait.
Good luck and best wishes to you all.
PS: With Leadwolf expecting soon, sounds like we should be starting a little riders club. Get track-time scheduled and maybe hire a group riding coach. You know, create the next Ricky Carmichael or Colin Edwards (heck, need to start grooming them early if they are to be expected to keep us in the lifestyles we are accustomed too right :-D :-D )
