As some of you know (Scott :) ) I am a big Colin Edwards fan. He just busted his finger last weekend @ Catalunya on the Aprilia Cube. Apparently something got caught in an injection port, not good. Wasn't his fault, just bike failure. Just posting to make sure you guys support our fellow Texan :dude: He has climbed the ranks and from preseason testing, looks to be competitive. He is learning the new tracks rather quickly and looks strong on the new bike already. Suzuka is 2 weeks from this Sunday for the opening round on speed :chug:

Dang! Had not heard he was injured. This is not going to slow him down is it?? I so want him to either win or atleast place ahead of the highest Honda in the championship. Honda deserves that for their treatment of him. Oh how sweet that would be for Colin too, hehe.

Adios,

Supposed to be pretty minor:

I hope he can be competitive on the Cube and that he didn't cut off his nose to spite his face, as it were, by leaving Honda. Not that I thought giving him the 7th factory bike on Bridgestones or the way Honda treated him at the end of last season was fair.

But he's going to be up against some tough competition. Maybe he should have gotten a Duc GP ride. They were hitting 203mph at Catalunya.

Cool! Thanks for the link. I'd hate for him to not be 100% for the first race. It sohuld be an exciting race no matter what. There are just so many people that have a lot to prove... arrgghh, the suspense is killing me!

Adios,

It would be great to see a fellow Texan on top in GP again - AND also prove the inherent superiority of a triple over those competing v-thingees...

Speaking of Texas GP champs, I had an interesting experience with Kevin Schwantz years ago. Long before he earned his fame and fortune, he was working at his uncle's Yamaha dealership in my neighborhood, and I had the chance to meet him briefly while checking out the bikes there on a couple of occasions. I remember him as being a rather quiet, intense young man. Anyway, one afternoon I was out riding around on my bicycle when he pulled up beside me on an RD 400. We were both stopped at a red light and he looked over at me and nodded. When the light turned green, he proceeded to pull a wheely most of the way down the block to the stop sign at the next street. After putting it down, he looked back over his shoulder at me with a "how was that?" expression. Gave him the thumbs up for his performance. 8)

Glad to here that it sounds minor and that he should be ok for Suzuka. I really enjoyed watching him and Bayliss go at it last year in WSB and I hope that their addition to MotoGP along with Rossi, Biaggi, Capriossi and the rest will make for one **** of a year of racing. :-D

Just hope the NASCAR channel (oh, I mean Speed) does a better job of covering the races than they did last year. :angryfir:

Like Nicky Hayden, he's probably in his trailer playing the track on his playstation, trying to learn it. :|
