Houston Alamo Draft House Cinema...where the heck is that?? :|

It's at West Oaks Mall Highway 6 and Westheimer. The cinema is a really cool concept. Some of the screens are smaller and suck, but some are regular sized. Every other row of seats has been removed and there is a bench put in it's place to put your food and BEER on. They run a full service restaurant out of the cinema. Good food too, from pizzas to hoagies. So you can eat a pizza, drink a beer while watching your flick. I really like it and have driven out of my way to watch movies there (saw Swat and T3 on their opening weekend). Cool way to watch a flick.

:tab There is a place in Dallas somewhere on Greenville Ave., that is like this. Beth and some of our friends went there back in '96 and loved it. Sounds like a cool concept as long as it is not one of those recent 3 hour long movies :rool:

There is or was Granada Movie Grill that had a couple of locations up here. Now there's a chain called movietavern (http://movietavern.com) that has a few theaters in the DFW area. One just opened 2 miles from my house. It's like Inigo says, where they leave every 3rd row of seats. The Granada was cooler--it had booths and bars and varied layouts.

Hrm, maybe I can get the Bedford movietavern to screen Faster...

I will be posting the showing date for Austin when details become available on our website SMOTdotNET. I hope to draw a crowd of central Texas V4 enthusiasts to the Alamo Drafthouse for opening night if possible.

Just went to the "FASTER" web site and it looks like the Austin showing may have been cancelled. There is no longer any mention of it on the "News" Page. I will be very dissapointed :tears: if this is true.

Went to the Alamo ( Houston) last night with some frineds to see "Faster". You gotta go!!! It's an amazing documentary with some really good insights you'll never see anywhere else. Rider rivalries (Rossi vs. Biaggi) , 2 stroke vs 4 stroke, all the stars are in it - Rainey, Schwants, Roberts, Rossi, Biaggi, too many more to name.

They added a showing for this Sunday afternoon - I think it's 4pm. Go see it - it's really good stuff.
