Am beginning to gather shots of various musicians from general area. So far, Leadbelly, Blind Lemon Jefferson and Lefty Frizzell. Cannot find the ones of Buddy Holley and Jim Reeves, so looks like a ride is in order.

How 'bout Stevie Ray Vaughan.....Laurel Land Memorial Park Dallas

Charles Hardin Holley aka Buddy Holly....City Of Lubbock Cemetery

Buddy Holly's (spelled "Holley" on the marker...that's his legal name) grave is at the front of the City of Lubbock cemetary when you drive in. It's a flat plaque, not a vertical stone, so it can be easy to miss if you're not looking for it. I used to go there all the time when I was a student at Tech. People would come by all day long and leave guitar pics on the marker. It was especially popular with European tourists. They even had special bus tours for it.

I have visited Roy Orbison's grave but it's a long ride.
Westwood Memorial Park in Los Angeles.
There is absolutly nothing to see, Roy's grave is unmarked.

Milton Brown (1903-1936), the originator and founder of Western Swing, was born in Stephenville and is buried near there at Smith Springs, Texas.

Mance Lipscomb is buried around Navasota. The Blues Fest for him is at the Grimes County fairgrounds on August 8th and 9th. Air Conditioned!!! I cancome up with several more sites directly. RH

If, in the event you haven't found Gentleman Jim Reeves' final resting place in the past 2 1/2 years since you posted on this thread, it is located at the Jim Reeves Memorial site, on US Highway 79, between Carthage, TX and Greenwood, LA (Greenwood is on the western edge of Shreveport, LA, home of all those dang casinos! :miffed: ..lol)

If you or anyone else wants more info/pictures, pm me & I'll try to get some next time I'm out that way. I'm only about 15 minutes from the site, and am always looking for any excuse to ride, Captain ride! :rider: :pirate:
