Dates edited 3/16.
I've been feeling inspired, so I spent some time tonight looking at my maps. I put together a route from Austin to Junction that takes advantage of a lot of the dirt roads in the area. I'm thinking this would make a great first day of a two day trip. The route could easily be reversed on the return trip with some alternate roads thrown in for a little variety. It is 238 miles one way with 125 miles of dirt. (I'm basing the dirt milage on the newest edition of The Roads of Texas.) That's right, Austin to Junction: over 50% dirt. :rider:
Dinner could be had at Coopers in Junction. :eat: Camping at South Llano River state Park would be ideal, with a nice dip in the river at the end of the day. If anyone would be interested, I'd like to try to do this April 21-22 or 22-23.
I'd be happy to email the route to anyone who has Garmin Software. It can also be viewed with Google Earth, but not very well. I thought about posting the directions, but hesitated to do so, since there are 116 steps. That would be kind of a long post.
I guess I should also say that I am a relative newbie, so I probably don't have any business leading a ride, but I'd love to collaborate with someone.
