Here's my shots from the weekend. There was a ton of serious gear out there!!! I felt very inferior. I tried shooting from a few areas, but it was tough fighting everyone and a bit discouraging. A good part of my shots were taken from my seat at Turn 15.

Here's a few of my favorites and a link to my set: LINKY

The Freestyle guys provided for some good photo opportunities, here's my favorite from those:

Thanks for looking.

Great pic's - the black and white pic's have an interesting contrast to them. Looks like you're in the ranks of the pro/am of photogs. Thanks for posting!

All nice and sharp... :thumb:

I can't see any Exif data for them. What aperture were you shooting on the 18-200? That is the lens I was using for many of my shots. I am still cranking through the shots in LR4. I'll try to get up some of the better ones soon, but I'll post a few of the not so good as well so you can see what I am talking about with respect to not getting sharp results.

Nice pictures! My two favorites are the one with Marc waving and the color panorama of the track. I was hoping Marc would wave when he came past us but he never did. :-( Oh... forgot to mention, the black and white portrait is very nicely done.

Any chance you can make those panoramas links to larger versions? I've been searching for the right photo to convince my wife that we need to sit there next year and those look like the ones to do it!

I was varying a bit, but for all action shots I was between f/4.0 and f/6.3.

Also, I was using an 80-200mm f/2.8D, not the 18-200. It's an old school lens, but still made by Nikon. I bought it for now instead of dishing out for the 70-200mm flavors.

You should be able to blow them up in my flickr link in the original post. ;-)

Great pictures Kory. You're images are some of the best I have seen of the MOTOGP race in Austin.

I am always amazed at how many excellent phototgraphers we have on TWTEX. It seems like someone with a good eye for symmetry and eager to learn can quickly become almost "professional" in photography these days, especially with the advent of the digital age.

Remember the old days of the dark room and manual cropping etc?

Man those are some great shots, thanks for sharing. I attended, my first and had a great time.

Thanks for the compliment!

Nope, don't remember much about those old days. If it wasn't for digital, I probably wouldn't be into photography. It's because of digital that I'm completely obsessed. ;-)
