Well, after much consideration, we thought maybe a north/south nike night rotation might be in order. I decided to post a poll on where the alternating South location should be. So we will have this up for a month and in May we should start having a weekly bike night.
So post up your vote and let us know your choice.
Rudy's BBQ 360 (http://www.rudys.com/index.html) - 2451 Capital of Texas Hwy, S.
Mozart's Coffee Roasters (http://www.mozartscoffee.com/) - 3825 Lake Austin Blvd.
Jo's Hot Coffee and Good Food (http://www.joscoffee.com/) - 1300 South Congress
Hill's Cafe (http://www.hillscafe.com/) - 4700 South Congress
Nutty Brown Cafe (http://www.nuttybrown.com/) - 12225 Highway 290 West

I have not been to any, so I took a guess. Maybe I should get out more, at least head south every once in a while.
Only an Austin group could maintain such an even distribution.

They all sound interesting to me. Since I'm not one to go long distances or in the city on my bike, you know I'd be caging it anyway. So I'll leave it to the southern residents to vote. I figure they will know the places better. I've only been to one personally.
They are all good places. Hill's can be crazy when they have live music. I've had to park blocks away to get in. That's normally after mid-week.
I like the south Austin area around St. Ed's, south Congress etc. Where we meet is really secondary to me.

Hill's, Jo's & Mozart's all host some sort of bike night that I know of, so we would want to choose another night unless they can accomodate both.
Hill's & Jo's both have pretty good parkig. Nutty Brown would be fun but parking can be tough there.
I voted for Hill's but would be happy with any except maybe Rudy's... it's not south enough.:-P

Hill's was Thursday night, but they no longer have it. That was the H-D night that moved up to JR's and has since been discontinued. Mozarts is a small CF get together like ours on Wednesday, I know that they used to meet at Jo's a long time ago.

Not knowing if I can make any location, I would vote for Rudy's since it seems at least not to far south. My first choice would be out at Nutty Brown, great spot and good food. But it seems to far out of the way.

Might I also suggest two other locations:
Opal Divines at Pennfield (http://www.opaldivines.com/pennfield/index.html) 3601 S. Congress, under the water tower. They have a huge deck and the owner is a motorcycle rider. He would probably agree to block off some prime bike parking once a month as long as it's on a night other than Thurs-Sat. Food & drinks are all good.
I've never been here, but I'm also interested in Doc's Motorworks Bar & Grill (http://www.austincityguide.com/content/docs-austin-restaurant.asp). They just opened about 6 months ago and they look like a cool place to hang out with parking along the edge of Congress right next to the patio. They are at 1123 S. Congress, just across from the Texas School for the Deaf.

Very old Bump.
Opel Devines on S. Congress had (or had?) Thursday night as Buell night. Usually 5 to 10 bikes showed up.
My favorite would be Hill's cafe again. Hill's cafe had a great outdoor venue with cheap beers, food, live music, and special motorcycle vip parking. There seemed to be alot of diversity amongst the bikes, which I like. The atmosphere was not dominated by metrics or H-Ds. I wish a South Austin bike night would pick up again.
