Four of us have a three day hill country / west Texas adventure ride planned over Easter weekend. Leaving from Austin on Friday morning, April 14th, we will spend 3 days riding paved and unpaved roads between Austin and Langtry, TX, returning to Austin on Sunday, April 16th. Friday and Saturday nights will be spent in a hotel in Sonora, TX. I have 2 rooms already reserved at the hotel. (The hotel is cheap. I haven't seen it and am not expecting much from it.)

We haven't ridden most of the dual sport roads that are on our planned route, which should make for some fun exploration.

3 of us are riding KLRs. We aren't aggressive or fast riders, but we do maintain a steady pace without a lot of stops.

Unfortunately, our 4th rider just called me to tell me he has had a catastrophic failure of his rear shock. It won't be repaired for 2 weeks.

So, now we are looking for a 4th rider to go with us. You will need a dual sport capable bike prepared for 3 fairly long days in the saddle (300 miles or so each day is my estimate) and fairly long distances between fuel stops. Knowing my luck we will likely encounter multiple water crossings.

Sound like your kind of adventure?

First person to call me and confirm they are going gets the last spot. My cell is 512-203-6143.

Hey Richard.....you know I'd be there if it didn't conflict with the Easter Saturday Beach Ride planned....
Have a good time and be sure to stop at Camp Easy in Pandale.....Check out the photo gallery and tell Old "Easy" that I said Hi...

Won't be able to do this one, but I'm planning a similar ride to Pumpville (NW of Langtry). Curious to see what you find, road-wise...

We will be passing through Pumpville as part of our route from Langtry back to Sonora. I'll be posting a trip report, including road info.

Be sure to ask "Easy" in Pandale to show you his cabins and campground....It would make a great overnight stop on a ride sometime....

Y'all have a great time.
