View Full Version : Tour or Sport? Which is more important to you?

Sometimes, especially when the weather is really nice, rolling it on through the corners doesn't seem too important a factor in enjoying the ride. Instead, I often find myself rolling back the throttle in order to take in the scenery at a more relaxed pace; maybe pulling over to just sit back and absorb the surroundings. That can be one of the finer experiences to be had on two wheels.
So what "does it" for you?
It should be interesting to see how people's choices are reflected by the kind of bike they ride, or what bike they'd like to be riding.

I enjoy riding with a group of friends. I really don't care about the pace. When I ride alone, I turn up the heat for a little excitement but, I would rather be with others on a long ride. :-D

I like a good easy pace when I'm going through country I'm not familiar with. Slow enough to look around but fast enough to be enjoyable. And I like to go down roads I've never been down before. My wife says I drive like an old farmer. :)

I have to admit to liking to crank it up a little sometimes but I also really like the touring aspect of riding also (just means I usually have to ride the same route more than once to get everyithing out of it, darn). So I say do both.

I will be the first to admit, I tend to ride slightly faster than the law allows. But, I also like to see the sights. It is tough to do both, espcially when riding in a group. I tend to see more when riding alone. But, I don't tend to ride any slower.

I lean (get it, lean?) more towards the sporting side of things. I do however, eating up lots of miles that's why I got the Strom. The SV was great at twisties, but just wasn't quite up to long hauls. I did ride it to Knoxville for the Honda Hoot in 2k1, though. I hope to do a ride up to Eureka some time this fall. But, the majority of my riding is made up of 300 days with 90% twisties.
