Alright, there's been enough discussion in the previous thread so I thought I'd start a new one.
Here's the Rules (as taken from the previous thread)
1. Must be a picture of the city limit sign.
2. Each letter is open till the next has been posted.
On your mark.
Get Set.
GO!!

We have 2 C's up already so its still open, but a D would be fine too.
DANNYROTH
05-04-2006, 07:00 PM
I just had to dive in. Went down the road a piece and got a "C" while it was still open. Here's Corrigan, Polk County:
http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i19/dannyroth/CorriganPolkCty.jpg
Then picked up a "D" in the little community of Damascus, Polk County:
http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i19/dannyroth/DamascusPolkCty.jpg
Damascus is on a really fine little road that I highly recommend to anyone, FM1987. Loops east from US 59, on the north end of Corrigan and joins back into 59 just south of the Neches River.

What kind of bike is that Danny?
DANNYROTH
05-05-2006, 11:30 PM
That's my 2001 Honda XR650L with a Tupperware fuel tank and the remains of a Spitfire windshield. That shot from behind really gives it a different look when you can't see the front fender!
1TallTXn
05-06-2006, 07:35 PM
ok, I thought I remembered you having a XR, but it didn't look like it to me from those pics. the color almost looks orange, so I was half thinking older KTM
I'm really wanting a DS lately...
DANNYROTH

Those two pics were made with a camera one of my daughters gave me that is actually on a key chain. It's bare-bones picture taking, doesn't have a little screen on it or anything. Just aim in what you hope is the right direction and fire away. Always take three times as many pics as you need because at least 66% will not contain the object you wish to capture! Color accuracy is not one of its strong points, either:

Lets make things clear, according to wikipedia List of Cities in Texas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_in_Texas) there are only these cities that are in Texas starting with the letter "I"
Independence, TX :Founded in 1835 in Washington County, Texas, Independence is located twelve miles northeast of Brenham, Texas, and is the original location of Baylor University
Ingleside on the Bay,TX :Ingleside on the Bay is a city located in San Patricio County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 659.
Iowa Park, TX: Iowa Park is a city located in Wichita County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 6,431.
Irving, TX: Irving is a city located in the U.S. state of Texas within Dallas County. According to the 2000 U.S. Census, the city had a total population of 191,615.
The last one is the closest to me, is a mere 41 miles across town, and I aint driving that side of town for at least a week or two to grab it. (never in that area) so my vote is we skip "I" unless someone is close to the other.

Zavalla, on US Hwy 69 in southern Angelina county.
X will be the tough one. I have seen signs with a big X in the middle of them with little Rs on either side of them. Coincidentally there are these long sets of stairs with the lowest bannisters I've ever seen on them just about every place I have seen these X signs!

Well according (yeah I know I said this before but this time its a texan source) to Texas state library, there are no "X" cities in Texas.
http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/ref/abouttx/popcity2.html
and confirmed by another source : http://txsdc.utsa.edu/tpepp/2003_txpopest_place.php
But there seem to be a "few" z's out there.
Zapata is south on the border of Mexico, south of laredo.
North zulch, is FM39 & W. TX-21 West of Madison, there is nothing left of the town but the city limits (ghost town) sign..
Zuehl CDP, Zip 78124, 7 square mile town ..(lol) pop 346, Somewhere between kirby and sequin http://www.city-data.com/city/Zuehl-Texas.html

BTW, the USGS does list one "populated area" place name in Texas starting with "X": XX Farms Colonia. It's on FM2925 (Marshal Hutts Rd) north east of Arroyo.
http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/MapServer?f_name=XX+Farms+Colonia&f_state=TX&f_latlong=262010N0972935W&f_type=ppl&server=TIGER
As is common with colonias, it doesn't seem to be shown on highway maps. I have no idea if there's a sign there or not.
Want to be worshiped as a minor deity for 15 minutes? Kick start the ol' Hydraglide this weekend and go take a picture of XX Farms, Texas!

well , dealer is an ***, they tell me the TXdot takes 60 days to issue plates (which I know is simply they havent paid the ride to honda yet, so I have been on Temp plates for 30 days now...) and I have over 3000 Miles on that ride so far in that many days. (1920 MIles for daily commute to work and the rest welll the 1080 of it, pleasure of course :) my ride doesnt sit in a garage .. thats the spot for my jeep...lol)
yes.. original tires, they are good for 7-8000 miles I was told... so 1-2 months and I have to change them...lol
rode with a group on memorial day for 4 hrs, every time I saw a city limit sign I was itching to pull over to grab them in pictures (saw like 12 or so...lol) guess I will have to ride that route (was a nice ride) to gather them up again :) need more picture for next round.
