This is an older video but still a very good one. Platon has captured some amazing photographs of people. There there are techniques to be learned, but mainly I was impressed with his little tidbits of information on how to talk to people while taking their photos. There are a few photographers that I feel really have the knack for this and Platon is one of them. Enjoy if you haven't seen this before.

And to see some of his pretty high profile portfolio:

Wow, I just watched the entire video and would have to agree that he has a bedside manner about him which is calm and soothing. I can't begin to imagine the time constraints/pressures he experiences with these shoots.

Then I bounced over to the galleries. He's got quite a portfolio and I'd say he's at the top of the food chain for this. Some amazing work that when you look at it closely, the techniques appear to be in four or five general styles of shooting which I'm sure we could all duplicate/create if we practiced. Where I think he excels, is in that one on one bedside manner in his ability to connect with the subject. I know that's just one area where I fail miserably.

Thanks for the links. They were grand.

The stories that went with the pictures are very interesting.

Like y'all said, the "bedside" manner is astounding.

I like that one of Matt Damon in the mirror. Looks like something you would do, Scott.
