Well, I haven't had anyone throw anything at me lately, so I thought I'd do a poll

It depends... :-P Wet road, gravel, dry road...?? How fast does the system cycle? For the average rider with mediocre braking skills, I would say the ABS helps. For s highly skilled rider with top notch braking skills, I would say it makes things worse. Of course, this is sheer speculation as I have never tested the stopping abilities of an ABS equipped bike personally. Nor have I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express. So I could be totally full of...

Adios,

Man, you just blew my whole follow up...

Guess I'll have to actually do some work now. :-(

Maybe I'll have to go for linked brakes next ;-)

I voted no. On the most part they don't, but they DO let you maintain control better. The next bike I get will have them.

My R1150GS has ABS. I have activated them one time in a true emergency. Scared the **** out of me. I think the sensor seemed to be a little too sensitive. Also, I have to remember to turn them off to do stoppies.
