Many of you have ridden with Steve and Rita. Wonderful couple who would do anything to help you. And they ride two-up better than most of us can handle a bike solo.
Steve has some important surgery in June. He and Rita need your prayers. Just pray for a successful outcome in your daily prayers, and hopefully we will see him back in the saddle before summer's end.

This is what I get for not showing up early at the Thurs night meets and ending up at the opposite end of the table. This is the first that I've heard of the upcoming surgery! Best of luck Steve, and we'll be thinking of you.

My thoughts and prayers are with both Steve & Rita. I haven't talked to them in person but I know Steve is strong & he can get through anything that comes his way. He has a great support group here for him if he needs anything. That includes Rita too.

:tab As Stuart said the surgery went well. No immediately obvious signs that the cancer has spread. However, final word is pending lab results for tissue samples. He is in a recovery room now and will be moved to the 3rd floor of the Conroe Regional Medical Center. Not sure about visiting hours yet. Odds are, he will be pretty loopy most of today so visiting Friday might be best. I'll try to post up room info as soon as I get it.

Visited with Steve and Rita this evening. Both are doing great. He will be out of the hospital Saturday and sent home to recover there. He was a bit groggy from the meds but still quite himself ;-)

I talked to Rita briefly on Saturday & they were just leaving the hospital. I could hear Steve in the background saying "We're going to get pie." Sounds like he was doing well. :-P
