This weekend is my birthday and my husband will be camping Saturday and Sunday. So would anyone like to go exploring with me? I have two ideas: 1) Explore some ghost towns (depopulated) in and around Tyler County or 2) Explore Davy Crockett National Forest area. I have prepared a powerpoint with maps to the towns around Tyler County and can email that to anyone interested, I can scan pages about each town from the books written by T. Lindsay Baker "Ghost Towns of Texas". PM me with your email address. Towns of interest are: Swartout, Peachtree Village, Manning, Ogden and Pluck. What we do will determine which bike I take. Anyone interested?

How many miles are you thinking about riding that day?

I am interested but may have something planned on Saturday morning plus the weather is kind of iffy. Still, please let me know.

Also, I just see, Ogden, TX seems to be way up north - like west of Dallas? lol.

I found Swartout on the map, looks like Lake Livingston area (sorry, didn't know where Tyler co is).

Patrica, this is likely to be a dualsport ride involving dirt roads... :trust: You probably used the "New Posts" to list the threads and did not notice this post is in the DualSport forum ;-)

Ah, teaches me to read the links!

Hmm... maybe I should get a Dual-Sport then? These trips sure sound like fun :rider: I sat on a BMW yesterday and it felt puuuurdy good, even though it is not a heavy-duty crossbike like you all probably have. But, I got the taste. :dude:
