Re: Butler Maps - printed motorcycle maps for riders by riders

posted this about Ozark dirt
here: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=766421

i do all the dirt road work for Butler and we're having a **** of time adding dirt roads to this map because the area is so large and thus the map is zoomed out so far that i don't have enough room to label the dirt roads.
also where i would label a dirt road between G rated paved roads i have about an inch to work with in space and the road names change so much vrs the longer single name western dirt road we have.

you guys have sooooo many packed in tight paved roads (it's unreal!) there is just no room. out west our paved roads are fewer and farther apart so i have plenty of open space to add dirt roads.

we might add some dirt roads in our G1 detail boxes (especially the big one in the lower right corner),
but i'm not sure at this moment what will happen. sorry all you ozark dirt fans.

Hi,

Are you in Eagle or Steamboat Springs? Your avatar says SB but your web site says Eagle.

I would like to drop by next week to say hello, if that is OK.

Thanks,

RB

Re: Butler Maps - printed motorcycle maps for riders by riders

Great job Bill. So very glad to hear you are now working on an Arkansas Ozarks version. I am a long time on / off road rider, and Newton County land owner who would love to take part in, or assist with some of the research riding in the Buffalo National River headwaters region. There are so many great dirt and pavement routes throughout this region. I am constantly finding sweet ride routes I never knew existed. Having a comprehensive M/C oriented map will be a real help to the many thousands of tourist riders we see here every season. Even us "local" riders would enjoy learning of some previously unknown routes. For the sake of all my ADV friends, I do hope you could also consider showing the portion of the TAT trail which crosses thru this region.
How 'bout it, need any help? OK I will say what I really mean...
Can I come play too?

Great Rides Of The Ozarks.mov - YouTube
Still in Eureka Springs after attending the STN National. Went for great ride yesterday lead by Tracy. I have ridden a lot up here and Tracy took us on couple great roads I hadn't ridden before.

Big thanks to Butler Maps for providing us the day loop maps

Thumbs up Re: Butler Maps - printed motorcycle maps for riders by riders

rode roads found on the texas hill country map, while in austin for rot

great finds and close enough to austin to be real convenient

when i got home, i headed for the BUTLER web site & ordered the colorado map & book

the package arrived promptly

but it was EMPTY

someone had deliberately torn it open, while in transit

i notified BUTLER via voice mail & e-mail and got an immediate reply!!!

COURT, now, has pictures of the envelope & is chasing the problem down, while my replacement set is on the way

GREAT COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS WITH

GREAT PRODUCT

GREAT SERVICE

that's my story & i'm stickin to it

shiny side up

Re: Butler Maps - printed motorcycle maps for riders by riders

one of the final Ozark revisions before printing next week. :clap
this will be a paved road only map because of the scale and large area it covers. sorry to all you DS out there who were also looking for dirt on here too.

glad you enjoyed and wait till you see the finished map.
the shear volume of G1-3 roads is unreal in the ozarks.

Bill, I got my package last week with the whole kit and kaboodle and have been planning my route up through ID, MT, WY, etc for August. Any plans on doing an Arizona map? Maybe you guys know of some good roads I haven't found yet.

Hi Bill and Justin,

I enjoyed coming over to your offices today in Eagle, Colorado!

I am really excited about the excellent map system your hard working company is developing. They have made my riding even more rewarding for myself with the recent new discoveries of scenic roads - both paved and unpaved. Your "hot off the press" released map of the Arkansas roads pictured below looks like another superb Butler Map product.

Happy Trails,

RB

the replacement colorado set, for the set stolen from the shipping envelope, arrived yesterday

WOW what a cool book on colorado

it combines information from many of my other colorado travel books and added a bunch more good stuff

the map is real good, as usual

can't say enough about the butler folks or their products

happy trails
