Re: Montgomery Bike Nights - Thursdays 7:00pm

I have a friend who is looking for local venues for his band to play and he is passing through tonight after playing for the past week in Grapevine, near DFW. They are from New Orleans and mostly play popular cover tunes of classic rock - party music. I have mentioned The County Line and Papa's on the Lake but I'm sure there are other places that hire live bands on the weekends, especially in the summer around the lake. Any ideas? 936-827-9543

Yeah, it is a nice room! Beth would have loved it. The quilt in process was very cool.

It is no crime to be ignorant of economics, which is, after all, a specialized discipline and one that most people consider to be a ‘dismal science.' Just west of 45 on 1097. You will pass the bank and Walgreen and there is a strip center on the north side of 1097.

Thumbs down Re: Montgomery Bike Nights - Thursdays 7:00pm

FWIW, I tried out the new Rico's in Montgomery. They bought out a different Mexican place near Cruisin J's and Pizza Shack. The food was almost as good as the one in Willis. Nothing else seemed all too good. They had a short glass wall added to the divider between some booths to separate the smoking section of the bar from the rest and it does not work. The air intakes are all in the dining section so it pulls the smoke over. After we moved to the other side of the place we almost couldn't smell smoke at all. Another customer slipped on a wet spot and hit the back of her head and we noticed that even as the EMTs were arriving, the manager had not comped their meal and they had been presented with the bill. Our waiter was almost totally absent until we finally were able to flag him down to get our bill. Not at all like the experience of the Rico's in Willis. I truly hope they get their act together.
