Ceramic and Powder Coating for Webnel

A fun job that involves both powder and ceramic work.

I did the ceramic today, powder will be tomorrow.

Re: Ceramic and Powder Coating for Webnel

I worked on the powdercoat today. Here are the parts all finished minus one foot peg. I am redoing it right now. I'll take better pictures when the sun is shining bright.

Also, we had talked about doing the heat shield in red, white, and blue. You didn't really specify what scheme you wanted so I kind of guessed. I'm not terribly happy with the quality. It's a bear coating something white, then masking the star and blue section, spraying blue, curing, masking the red section, sparying and curing, then clearcoat and curing. There's a lot of stages in there where something can go wrong. It looks so-so in my opinion. That red overspray down in the well where the mounting bolt goes is eating at me.

Man that is looking good. I do see what you mean about the red over spray. I know you will figure something out. You do fine work.

I think a bigger washer would hide the overspray enough to make it a non issue. I'm gonna stew over it tomorrow and see if I can live with it or not.

Wow, check that out! You pulled the red, white and blue theme off very creatively! Nice layout on the star and the blowing in the wind effect. It's Texas, a touch of Captin America, and a hint of Evil Kenevil all raped up in one.

Considering it's a dirt bike and not for show less than perfect is OK. A quick solution to the red overspray might be nice.

I look fwd to seeing the parts in person and mounted on the bike.

I get real fed up with the business aspect of this gig at times and lose sight of what I'm doing it for. But, pictures like that make it all worthwhile and help me mentally reset myself. I don't do it for the money. I do it for the satisfaction of contributing to projects like yours.
