Wow, I've been on 5 of the top 10 and my number one motorcycling road isn't even in the top 100. Sweet! That means it will stay uncrowded.

As much as I like riding the Sisters, I can sure pick some from down in that list that would move them down considerably.

Yea...lot's of folks are jaded since they have ridden it so much and with near drought conditions, it is barren in some places.

If you're an out of state riding virgin, most people don't realize that we have great set of roads to enjoy among the plethora of flat routes, especially during the spring when the foliage is in full bloom, assuming we have abundant precipitation.

One of my fav's is the 14',000 foot set of roads along the "ridge" from Pike's Peak, Mt. Evans to the north to the top of northern Colorado aka Estes Park.

I agree. I've been on a few of these that I would rate higher for a few different reasons.

edit: Looks like they aren't listed in ranked order?

Re: Top 100 Motorcycle Roads in America

Here is another list called the Nifty 50. Not an attempt to list the best roads. It showcases one road from each state which provides a unique riding experience. Some will show up on a Top 10, Top 20, or even a Top 100 list, but most will not.

FM 170 River Road is missing from the top 100? Really? I saw another list with it listed as the #2 best road in the US. Seems awfully odd that it wouldn't make a top 100.....

The River Road is great but is hard to reach for most MCL riders. You have to ride through the desolation of West Texas for hundreds of miles to reach it. The route is more suitable during the spring or winter due to the heat of the summer riding season.

From a quick look, I've done about 25 of them. May be more, just don't recognize the name or number.

Re: Top 100 Motorcycle Roads in America

I actually went and clicked on all the ones that weren't obvious from the title. I am now at 32. And , heck. I haven't been to that many states on a bike. I guess I just pick the ones with twisty roads.

And yeah. Some of the included roads strike me as interesting choices. (I love my little Oakalla Run down by Killeen , but jeez.)

BTW, It's not supposed to be 100 Best but 100 Most Searched. One is qualitative, the other just quantitative. How many clicks.
