Remington 700 SPS tactical

I need to get some scratch together to pay for a top case for the new GSA in the garage. In order to make this happen I am offering up my new and un-shot Remington 700 SPS Tactical .308. Here is some info:

OVERVIEW:

The Model 700 SPS puts legendary Model 700 accuracy and reliability within reach of most avid enthusiasts. It's a no-frills, tack-driving game-dropping machine built with everything you love about the Model 700, including a hammer-forged barrel, externally adjustable X-Mark ProŽ trigger, SuperCell™ recoil pad and, of course, hair-splitting precision, straight out of the box. It features an ultra-rugged, ergonomically designed synthetic stock for superior weather resistance and handling.

Visit the NEW Remington 700 Network website

The Model 700 SPS Tactical is a highly maneuverable member of the family, built for tack driving accuracy with a 20" heavy-contour tactical-style barrel and dual-point pillar bedding in its black synthetic stock. HogueŽ overmoldings on the stock facilitate sure handling, and it has a semi-beavertail fore-end for added stability off a rest. Chambering includes 223 Remington and 308 Win.

KEY FEATURES:

20" heavy barrel
X-Mark Pro Adjustable Trigger system
Hogue overmolded stock
Pillar bedded stock for accuracy
Durable satin black oxide metal finish
Hinged floorplate magazine

The tags are still on it and a round has never been fired through it. Remington's MSRP is $750 and you can find them online some places for $650. Looking for $600 OBO and a local or close to local buyer. Of course if you have a really clean GSA top case, we might be able to work something out too. Otherwise cash is king. Also still have a beautiful Springfield XD-45 compact for sale in this forum...Located in Austin. Thanks.

Re: Remington 700 SPS tactical

I've got the predecessor (REM700 PSS/.308) and I can vouch for the out of the box tack driving consistency of these things. Then, roll your own and they are simply easy to shoot with even better performance if you do your part. I like to think of it as an expensive .22lr - just a joy to shoot. Easy on the shoulder and a big bang with a thump on the receiving end.

There's five shots in there at 100y.

Any chance you'll be up in the DFW region in the near future? I'd take it, just not interested in the drive.

Re: Remington 700 SPS tactical

Don't go to the trouble to take one and post it for me, I'm not in the market for this rifle, but I do have a nosy 'window shopper' mentality and would think a pic wouldn't hurt your chances on the sale.

I will say though, that I can speak to how great 700's are and for centerfire bolt action they are my go to. GLWS

If you had shot it a pic like M38A1's says a LOT about a rifle.

Scott BTW was that with hand loads or factory loads?

Re: Remington 700 SPS tactical

Agreed. I cannot seem to get photos to attach. If someone wanted to help I could email them to you and it would be greatly appreciated. For those looking for a complete set up, here you go. My brother has a great scope and mount that he is needing to sell. Leupold MKIV M1 MRT with Larue Tactical LT104 SPR mount. $975 for the scope and mount or $1525 for complete package.

I also will be posting an awesome Rock River LR8 .308 sniper carbine that has everything you would ever need. Will post soon. Thanks all...

I rolled those myself....

38.0gr 4064
Federal Gold Match primer
Sierra 168gr MatchKings
2.940" OAL (single feed only)
Laupua cases (primer pockets reamed, hole cleaned, all within a couple gr of each for weight)

Grinch you have some good taste in rifles, scopes, and bikes. This would be a fine setup all together.

Now you're talking. That is my exact powder (IMR 4064 but different weight)/primer/bullet combo only in7mm REM MAG or 300 RUM. I've fished around a lot over the years and can't beat it. The 168 grain bullet performed the best out of both calibers, even though the 7mm bullet is much much longer.

Re: Remington 700 SPS tactical

I use Lapua cases but load 110gr Vmax A little flatter trajectory and extremely davastating on game. I believe I am loading 46grs of H335, a bit hot but shot in at .42 inch at 200 yards out of my FN. Sold it and now waiting on my Ruger Gunsite scout rifle I am almost tempted to get this to play with on short term since I am still waiting on my Ruger
