New Guy to this forum

What's up fellas. Stumbled across this forum while I was troubleshooting my 08 Suzuki GSX650F.

Been around the forums for a few years with a bolted, caged, and soon to be sprayed Sentra Spec V so I know how most of this works.

Been in Tx since 07 when the Army decided I should be here and have had the Suzi since 2010.

Currently work at the Texas A&M Health Science Center Medical Research Building and am pursuing my BA in Microbiology (Go GI Bill!).

The day I brought it home (Had 1 mile on the od).

2 weeks later (I have this issue with leaving my vehicles stock)

As she sits now:

All work has been done by me as it is with all my vehicles.

Welcome to the site!

So other than the exhaust and windscreen, what else did you do to the bike?

If you want government to intervene domestically, you’re a liberal. If you want government to intervene overseas, you’re a conservative. If you want government to intervene everywhere, you’re a moderate. If you don’t want government to intervene anywhere, you’re an extremist. — Joe Sobran

It is no crime to be ignorant of economics, which is, after all, a specialized discipline and one that most people consider to be a ‘dismal science.' But it is totally irresponsible to have a loud and vociferous opinion on economic subjects while remaining in this state of ignorance. – Murray N. Rothbard

When one possessed of the Truth suffers from a heavy heart he is susceptible to a more dangerous affliction — the craving for power to eradicate error, to cause Truth to triumph by force. - Frank Chodorov

Where politicians flourish, long history has harshly taught us, people and their liberty wither. Where the state is god and the "public interest" worshipped, individual man will be found bleeding upon the altar. - Karl Hess

The accepted wisdom is that without the state, society would collapse into lawlessness and crime. In fact, lawlessness and crime define the very nature of the state and the society organized by it. - Bionic Mosquito

But the myth of the rule of law does more than render the people submissive to state authority; it also turns them into the state's accomplices in the exercise of its power. For people who would ordinarily consider it a great evil to deprive individuals of their rights or oppress politically powerless minority groups will respond with patriotic fervor when these same actions are described as upholding the rule of law. - John Hasnas

Re: New Guy to this forum

I just realized that picture was before I went to the bar end mirrors and relocated my led forward facing turn signals to here:

When I went to the flush mounts on the sides of the fairing, I had zero visibility of my signals from the front. So initially I modded a set of mirrors with amber LEDs and those worked until I snapped a stalk when I got a little to close to the garage door.

So then I went to bar end mirrors, and had to figure a way to have forward facing signals. Since the GSX650F doesn't use the ram air vents like the GSXRs I pulled the mesh and mounted them in there.

You can't just throw out something like that and not tease us with some photos! Although this is a motorcycle site, many of us are car freaks as well so cough up some pictures of the cage.

It is a custom 6 point bolt-it from Kirk Racing Products. Once I get another DD this will be stripped and I will weld the cage in because I am going to turn her into a full time road course car.

Re: New Guy to this forum

Found out my bike had (I disconnected it) EVAP system. These are on Cali only bikes (omgwtfbbq?!?!)

Anyway, disconnected that and I think i have my stalling hesitation issue fixed (I'll know for sure this afternoon).

Also just picked up some Redline motorcycle oil and a K&N oil filter. As well as EBC pads for front and rear.

Found a crack in my header after the cat so that is coming off next weekend to get welded when I change the oil. Also completely removing the EVAP bs and probably removing the PAIR system. Going to remove the snorkel from the air box to increase air into the motor and debating on removing the secondaries. Also going to sell the Juice Box and pick up a Power Commander V for better tuning options.

Next on the list is Stainless Steel brake lines, Super Blue brake fluid and EBC rotors.

Took her out for a real ride today for the first time in months and remembered how much I love riding.

Re: New Guy to this forum

to TWT! There's lots of knowledge here, so ask questions when you run into something weird. I can only answer a few. At least, only a few without laying hands on, and thinking about it for a while, by which time you could be going again.

Go Air Force!....Doh! Wrong thread...lol...J/K...

Re: New Guy to this forum

Did some work this weekend. New oil/filter, new EBC brake pads, removed the EVAP ******** and pulled the header to get it welded (has a crack after the cat).
