Those of us that don't Wee will make fun of you. We always do. Not that we think they're uncapable bikes, they're just ... Wee. Sounds unmanly. Drink the KoolAid and get a BMW...

From what I understand what's turning people off to this bike (NC700X) is the fact you have to lift the pillion seat to put gas in the tank. If you have anything strapped to the seat you have to first remove that then remove the seat. Not a deal breaker for everyone but for some. On an adventure bike more often than not something is eventually strapped to the seat.

Re: Talk me in or out of

If the new Honda turns out half as good as the 650 V-Strom, it will be a nice bike. I though it looked a little small to me in the pics, like the Versys is, much smaller then the V-Strom. I'm a BMW guy now, but the V-Strom is the only bike I have considered buying again, just because of how really nice of bike it is.

Re: Talk me in or out of

You'll be happy with your Wee once you get the little niggles sorted out. Wees are great bikes, the TW200 of street bikes. It'll do most anything, not always well, but it will get the job done. Rather than a 2nd bike for hill country dualsporting, it would be much cheaper to have a 2nd set of wheels with the most aggressive offroad tread available so you don't run your knobs off commuting. The Wee is more than adequate for most county roads in Texas. Old River and Black Gap would be challenging, but Old Ore would be a great ride on a knobbed Wee. Plus, the Wee would be way more plush there and back than any bike that would handle dirt better.

Re: Talk me in or out of

Ken, I'm giving up the hardcore dual sporting so no knobbies for the Wee. I will be take the Wee to Big Ben in Feb for Richard's ride but will stick to the street and class 1 roads. I'll have to do the road by Presidio on the Wee just because it was to easy on the DR. LOL

Re: Talk me in or out of

170 to Presidio is a blast. Not much fun between Presidio and Riudosa, though, but north from Riudosa is Pinto Canyon, one of the prettiest rides in Texas. Usually the road is in pretty good shape, easy to do on a Wee. A Gold wing could handle this road, but a heavy street bike on street tires wouldn't be much fun. Knobbies would simply allow more enjoyment of the ride, on any bike.

Of course, if you follow 170 until the pavement ends, go through the gate, ... . Nah, too risky. Make sure you have a sat phone and medivac insurance for rider and bike if you go.

Pinto Cayon is the road. It was in good shape the last time and I think it would be a blast on the the Glee. I'll have to wait and see.
