Monarch?!?!?! That's only 11k! Head on up to Mt. Evans or Pikes Peak and you won't even want to get off the bike.

Glad you made it back safe and sound. That is always better than having to limp or trailer it home.

Yep. 11,300. Then to the top on the little gondola so 12k. When we got to Leadville at 10k that night, I felt fine. Must have been the rapid ascent.

Hike up to the top of Mount Crested Butte and then we'll talk about light headed.

Glad you made it back home. Sucks about the constant maintenance but at least you made it. I'll be interested to see what the final fix is for that.

Oh, and jealously looking forward to the pictures.

Re: HELP..HELP!!!....PLEASE

I know you say you are "bleeding" the slave but are you actually letting built up pressure escape? If it spews when you open the bleeder, go to the clutch res on the handlebar and take the top off. there are two holes at the bottom make sure that little hole is clear. That is the bypass. If that is clogged pressure has no where to go. Advice about making sure the clutch lever has clearance where it hits the piston is valid. Clutch slaves are right against the motor and the heat from the motor causes corrosion if there is water in the hydraulic fluid. A sticking slave piston due do corrosion could also be your problem. All pretty easy stuff to check if you have enough fluid. Keep slipping that clutch and you will need fibers. Stay out of top gear and that will help reduce the load on the clutch. Let us know when you find out the culprit was.

Thx tx246... I will ck the bypass holes. It did seem weird that I had to bleed it at least once a day due to pressure build up. Sounds about right.

I saw spots when I walked across the parking lot on top of Mt. Evans...

Other than that, I have never really had any other issues other than just being winded from exertion. Staying well hydrated seems to really help, especially with respect to preventing headaches.

Lies are fragile. They require constant attentiveness to keep them alive. The exposure of a single truth can rip through an ocean of lies, evaporating it instantly. - Brandon Smith

If you want government to intervene domestically, you’re a liberal. If you want government to intervene overseas, you’re a conservative. If you want government to intervene everywhere, you’re a moderate. If you don’t want government to intervene anywhere, you’re an extremist. — Joe Sobran

It is no crime to be ignorant of economics, which is, after all, a specialized discipline and one that most people consider to be a ‘dismal science.' But it is totally irresponsible to have a loud and vociferous opinion on economic subjects while remaining in this state of ignorance. – Murray N. Rothbard

When one possessed of the Truth suffers from a heavy heart he is susceptible to a more dangerous affliction — the craving for power to eradicate error, to cause Truth to triumph by force. - Frank Chodorov

Where politicians flourish, long history has harshly taught us, people and their liberty wither. Where the state is god and the "public interest" worshipped, individual man will be found bleeding upon the altar. - Karl Hess

The accepted wisdom is that without the state, society would collapse into lawlessness and crime. In fact, lawlessness and crime define the very nature of the state and the society organized by it. - Bionic Mosquito

But the myth of the rule of law does more than render the people submissive to state authority; it also turns them into the state's accomplices in the exercise of its power. For people who would ordinarily consider it a great evil to deprive individuals of their rights or oppress politically powerless minority groups will respond with patriotic fervor when these same actions are described as upholding the rule of law. - John Hasnas

+1 on the staying hydrated!!!

& do your best to avoid ALL carbonated beverages, they can accentuate the headaches

if you require a brew, try the local brew houses for some good, right out of the barrel stuff & walk back to the motel

2˘, cha - ching...

Amazing what life partners will do for ya. When I was broken down 20 miles outside of Roswell, NM at zero dark thirty, my wife helped me find a tow truck to get the bike and myself to the motel she helped arrange from long distance.

Good to hear you made it back safely.
