Off the market - For Trade: 02 BMW R1150R for Sport Touring/Touring Bike
I've got the itch to try something new, and I think I need to try something other than a naked bike.
I've got a 2002 BMW R1150R with approx 39k on it. Clear title in my name. I'm the second owner. This bike was on cosignment at MPH Cycles in Houston before I got it. It was owned and maintained by a helicopter mechanic, and MPH Cycles. It's never given me a problem. All I've had to do since owning it is put new tires on and change the oil. It's a solid reliable BMW that has many more miles left in it. I wouldn't hesitate to take this thing across country tomorrow, if I had the money or time. Features/Addons:
Like I said, it's a solid, simple BMW roadster without too many farkles. I'm interested in trading for a touring bike of some kind, or some other things that interest me. I'm not too picky as long as it isn't hideous, and is comfortable and reliable. Probably more touring, than sport. Models include: Guzzis of nearly any kind except the Californias. BMW:R or K, GS, RT, RS. Almost any size. I can always be tempted by airheads too. Kawasaki Concours Honda ST Yamaha FJR Or anything you think I might like. The bike is currently located in Houston but will be coming home to East Texas shortly. I'd be willing to ride halfway to meet someone. ![]() More pictures once I get it back to ETX. |

Re: For Trade: 02 BMW R1150R for Sport Touring/Touring Bike
Sorry, I did not say more...ABS, yes..35K, Marakesh Red, Ohlins suspension, Spiegler brake line, Sargent seats, BMW bags, and more. I've owned the bike for the last 18K or 6 yrs...all good. Went to Barber last Oct. Busy coaching MSF classes, just use the bike for touring. My other is a 99 R1100GS and my 93 Cherokee for work. The RS is getting a bit uncomfortable due to riding position...I'm 64.

OR - 04 Speed Triple (Red), about 4,000 miles (truly - I am the original owner, bought it new), upgraded fork springs, dyno-tuned, etc. But it's even "sportier" than yout BMW, so probably not....

Re: For Trade: 02 BMW R1150R for Sport Touring/Touring Bike
At this time I've decided to stick with my bike and just make a few mods and add farkles to get to what I want. Thanks everyone for your interest. If I decide to trade or sell again, I'll post it back up.

Well that didn't take long for the remorse to set in.

Re: Off the market - For Trade: 02 BMW R1150R for Sport Touring/Touring Bike
They are fun bikes as I can vouch for them.
I once owned an R850R and it was a terrific in town scoot that did quite well on the open roads as well. |
