College Station Victim
She was a childhood friend and is in ICU with lung damage. She was helping her daughter move. It sounds like she could use some prayers right now.

Re: College Station Victim
Our father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, On earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom, the power, the glory, forever. Amen.

Re: College Station Victim
Thanks for the prayers everyone. This is the latest information that I was able to find.
Holdsworth was following her daughter to a College Station house to gather her daughter’s belongings. Her daughter had just made it into the house when Holdsworth, 51, was hit twice by stray gunfire while sitting in her car just yards away. She was shot once in the chest and once in the arm. Doctors said the bullet burst as it entered her chest, leaving fragments in her body but missing her heart and spine. The other bullet went through her right shoulder through to her left shoulder, breaking bones along the spinal cord and ribs; amazingly neither bullet injured her spine or heart. Sheaner-Secker said that Holdsworth told her she thinks it is a miracle. She was then rushed to surgery with collapsed lungs and a lot of blood loss. After surgery she was and hospitalized and heavily sedated. On Aug. 15, her family and friends were overjoyed when she was able to talk to her children. She mouthed “I love you” to her son, Thomas, and “Hi, sweetie” to her daughter, Sarah. On Aug. 16, she was taken off the ventilator and was able to breath on her own but stayed in intensive care. She also took 50 steps in place with a physical therapist, visited with family and friends and received a gift of four cases of Dr. Pepper and a gift basket from the Texas A&M class of 1994. Two days later, Aug. 18, she was released from ICU and entered a private room, and Sheaner-Secker said all her vital organs were in good shape and her lungs had recovered. However, after yet another surgery on Aug. 20, doctors recommended she have no visitors for a week to heal and to prevent infection. The latest update at the time of printing from Sheaner-Secker said Holdsworth was unable to complete her hyperbaric chamber treatment, which she needs to complete daily for a successful recovery. She also had another surgery scheduled for Aug. 23. Sheaner-Secker attributes her recovery to the power of prayer and hopes everybody who has been praying will continue and that others will add Holdsworth to their prayers. “We all believe this was not luck,” Sheaner-Secker said. “It is a testament to many, many prayers and the power of prayer and the power of God.” Read more: White Rock Lake Weekly - Woodrow prays for A M shooting victim |
