Re: HONDA XR650L OWNER'S SIGN IN

Glad to hear that Agman is up and running. He mentioned it while we were talking RT the other day. Need to give him a call.

Hopper, congrats man. Remember the key to rum is the good stuff comes from English speaking islands (Angostura 7.) The key to marriage is one thing... just one thing - her.

I've put too many miles on the RT this week. Time to get some 650 time in.

Hopper in the forest (and the rest of us.)

Wish I didn't have BMW duties this weekend. That James River, that's a water crossing.Go left, it's deeper but not as slick.

Re: HONDA XR650L OWNER'S SIGN IN

Thanks y'all for all the congrats.

Agman...I'm glad your doing so much better. We'll have to head up to your part of the state to do a ride as soon as you get better.

Alex....I really don't have a problem riding the trails in the SHNF with my pig. I have gotten used to throwing aroung the heavier bike so its really not that bad for me, plus i grew up riding an XR500R in the national forest. I know that my brother prefers riding the fireroads. Are you heading up the forest anytime soon??

Meriden....i got a good lady. She lets me ride, and she puts up with me.. So i say she's a keeper.

Heck yeah, I'm game! lets be raving all night long at the G lake. I haven't done an all night party in 5 years. That's when I went here for a weekend and ended up staying for 5 weeks.
Full Moon Party

Any volunteers for talent recruiter/coordinator? hehe

Silver and I are riding this Saturday morning at 7:30am. It'd be great you showed. Now lets see if RMan will take the bait.

The Father to the XR650L

Does anyone ridden the progenitor of the XRL: the XL600R? I saw one, an '86 XLR, on CL. Was going to make an offer. But the fork looks like a joke compared to the modern 12 inches of travel. But I've read the XLR has the dual carb RFVC engine that will spank any XRL. The XLR has low seat height, 35", which is a big plus for my short legs. The XLR also is much lighter. I guess it's because it doesn't have electric starter.

Re: HONDA XR650L OWNER'S SIGN IN

Kick starters are fine if you can keep the engine running.

It really sucks bad when you bury the rear tire or stall it on a steep uphill. Esp. if it's the 40th time you kicked it that day because you are riding in a pack of 10, and your foot slips (twice actually) off the kickstarter and you hyper-extend your knee as you kick into nothingness....

I like lithium batteries, and adjusted valves.

Thanks, Gary, to you and to all of my riding friends for your kind words of encouragement. I am feeling better each day and look forward to riding the trails soon. Thanks also to Rman, who served ably as an intermediary while I was out of the loop.

Agman you're never out of the loop here. You're just making a pit stop and will be back out zooming with us on the loop again soon. What's it looking like, a month or more?

Thanks, Bullet. I hope to be riding with you and the rest of our gang the first week of October. My goal is to steadily recover and to not do too much too soon.

Sounds like a very wise plan!! Heal well, then go out and break something!! on the bike of course, not yourself..

Y'all have a great ride today (guess you're already on the trails as I'm writing this) but I was on the road last week and just have too much catching up to do around here this weekend. I still want to do that KDX/KLX ride we were talking about.
