Re: Thursday Austin Lunch M&G - Billy's - 11:00

3 1/2 days since anyone posted and no one mentioned going to lunch today (08/16/12). Well, I'm at the bank at the moment thinking if I can get 2 hours sleep this morning - between 8 & 10am, then I should be good for Billy's. I may just get there early enough to sit at the adult/early bird table. Nah, I wouldn't know what to do with myself.

To Ken's?

It kills me to ride in on E 290 onacounta the construction of the new toll road and the speed limit is 50 from Manor to 183. People are doing 50 (a few of them) and others are doing 60-70mph in the construction zone. REALLY have to stay vigilant while riding! Guess I can take an alternate route, would be more miles and take more time...

Dave: I'm not sure how far down you are on E290, but here's a hint... Take Harris Branch Parkway to Bluegoose (or just get on Bluegoose from 290), Take that to Cameron, Cameron to Sprinkle Cut-off, Sprinkle Cut-off to Fergeson, then you have the option of getting back on 290 past a lot of the construction (stay on sprinkle, you go past the UPS building and enter by Bill Miller BBQ), or going on Fergeson to Cameron/Dessau RD. Living in Harris Branch, I take these smaller roads and almost never get on 290 now.

I rode my WR250R to work today so will try to make it to Billy's for lunch. I did a complete makeover on it and have had people ask me,"What is that?"

Well, I'd rather have a CLEAN bike I CAN get dirty than a DIRTY bike that I can't get clean.

Hmmm . . . do you still have that Yamaha I rode when you rode my Versys? I bet I could get to Intel from my house in Hutto in record time on that thing. HA!

Probably not. Been down to LS once already this week and headed there again soon to pick up my bike. I'll be there next week to hear about the Ironman.

Re: Thursday Austin Lunch M&G - Billy's - 11:00

I have read about Ken's on here but not sure where it is. I can't make both Billy's and Ken's so if someone can give me directions to Ken's, I will just go there and sample one of his famous chili dogs. What is the best time to show up? I can leave Intel and get to Billy's in about 10 minutes so if Ken's is nearby, I can make it sometime before noon. Thanks!

It's just up the street. About a block south of the Mazda dealership and just across from the Farmer's Market.

I can't normally do both so since I really like hot dogs I just go to Ken's. Usually the crowd from Billy's starts getting there around 12:15 or so. I get there earlier so I can sit at the Adult Table.

Adults? I refuse to associate with adults! I may be 51 on the outside but inside I am still 18. I will get to Ken's around noon.

So, most of you missed the pre-meeting at Lone Star. Seems like there were 4 or 5 of the lunch bunch that wandered through while I was picking up my bike.

Had a pretty good turnout at Billy's today...around 12:45 folks took off. Green Eggs and Ham had his KTM fully loaded with travel gear. He is taking off for Colorado the next day or so.

Yea, sold the FZ1 many months ago. Hope to see you soon at the next shindig.

You misunderstood. It's called the Adult Table but so far nobody has seen any adults sit there. At least in our group anyway. Maybe some of our wives might be adults but I'm not so sure on that either.

Bikers are a good example of people growing older but not growing up.

I was at Ken's today just long enough to enjoy a chilli dog. There is a pie run in Marble Falls this month so maybe I will see you there.
