Re: Please pray for my Dad - in the ER

Saw Dad this evening. He looked MUCH better! We're hoping he can come home tomorrow, Wednesday at the latest. Getting home will go a long way toward getting him to feeling back to normal. The good thing is that his commute is only about 100 feet and it's a desk job. So he won't be stuck sitting around the house and if he starts feeling bad, it is a short walk across the yard to the house from our office.

Re: Please pray for my Dad - in the ER

Well, if he can survive the paperwork, he should be home this evening. He's back to eating and processing solid food without any pains/discomfort. Will be experimenting with his diet in the coming weeks to see if anything in particular causes problems.

Red, last I heard, maybe around January when he had the stent inserted, was that all his blood work came back good. I don't think he is on any medication related to heart/BP, etc...

With a stent it seems he probably had some type of cardiovascular disease. I guess he had angioplasty prior to the placement of the stent. Is he taking Coumadin..or Wafarin etc. following the stent placement?

He sounds like he is a candidate for the Forks Over Knifes diet (and anyone else who wants more energy and probably get off heart related meds and reduce the chance of Type 2 Diabetes).

I lost my father when I was very, very young to cancer of the Colon. I assume he has gotten a colonscopy as well. I know lots of healthy guys who have passed away because they avoided the dreaded "scope up the butt"...in retrospect, it cost them their lives.

Watch the 1 1/2 hour movie and report back.

He had an artery that was kinked, NOT clogged. The stent straightened the kink. It is a small artery at the bottom tip of the heart. It feeds the part of the heart that gets the speed up/slow down signal from the brain. He was getting really winded from even minimal exertion. Within 12 hours of having the stent put in he felt MUCH better. He did a few months of physical therapy just to get the heart back in shape and has since gone back to playing racquet ball during lunch most days. While they were in there they scoped out the other arteries and told him they all looked very good and clear.

Oh yeah, he's done that Results came back good.

He's up and about today, in the office and just hanging out. He still feels a bit weak from lack of eating and just laying in the hospital for a week. He says he feels much much better though.

There is no reason almost anyone should have a blocked artery, unless of course they have a terrible diet or have a strong genetic disposition, which is rarely the case. Having a healthy heart is mainly about free will to select the right lifestyle/diet etc.

Going to NM or CO?
